Objective: To observe the effect of acupuncture at the Jing-well point on hand dysfunction during stroke recovery, and provide a new treatment method for the clinic. Methods: Sixty patients with hand-dysfunction during stroke recovery who met the diagnostic criteria for stroke were randomly divided into Jing-well acupuncture group and the EX-UE 9 group,30 cases each. The Jing-well group received basic medical treatment, rehabilitation training and traditional acupuncture treatment, and acupuncture at Jing-well acupoints. The EX-UE 9 group received basic medical treatment, rehabilitation training and traditional acupuncture treatment, and acupuncture at EX-UE 9 acupoints.Patients of the two groups were treated once daily and every time last for 30 min,5 times of a week for 30 days. Before and after the last treatment, the patient’s maximal grip strength, hand joint mobility, and Barthel index score were evaluated.Statistical data were analyzed using SPSS 18.0 software to assess the effects of acupuncture on patients. Results: 60 post-ischemic stroke patients who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into 2 groups.During the trial,2 cases were removed from the Jing-well group and 3 cases were removed from the EX-UE 9 group. There was no statistically significant difference in two groups(P>0.05).After the treatment, the maximal grip strength of the two groups was significantly improved compared with that before treatment. The difference was statistically significant.(P<0.05).It could be observed that the jing-well group had better outcomes than the EX-UE 9 group’s(P<0.05),by comparing the parameters of both groups after intervention.2.After treatment, the joint mobility of the two groups was significantly improved compared with that before treatment(P<0.05).Compared with the EX-UE 9 group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).3.After treatment, the Barthel index scores of the two groups were significantly improved compared with those before treatment(P<0.05).It could be observed that the jing-well group had better outcomes than the EX-UE 9 group’s(P<0.05),by comparing the parameters of both groups after intervention. Conclusion: Acupuncture at the jing-well point can significantly improve the maximum grip strength, hand joint mobility and Barthel index score of patients with hand dysfunction during stroke recovery.Acupuncture Jing-well points can effectively treat patients with hand dysfunction during stroke recovery and Improve patients living ability.
