Objective1.To understand the psychological capital level,professional identity status and intent to stay for nursing undergraduates in the post-internship of the nursing college of a provincial Chinese medicine university;2.To analyze the impact of different demographic variables on the level of psychological capital and intent to stay in nursing students during the post-internship period;3.To explore the relationship between the intent to stay of undergraduate nursing students and their psychological capital;4.To analyze the main influencing factors of nursing undergraduates' intent to stay in the post-internship period,and provide theoretical basis for the later targeted clinical intervention and the promotion of the intent to stay of nursing students;MethodBased on the review of the psychological capital and the theory of intent to stay,the first draft of the general information questionnaire was established through the discussion of the research group and expert consultation.According to the results of pre-surveys of 50 clinically eligible subjects,the questionnaire was revised to form the final version of the questionnaire.From April 2018 to May 2018,a convenient sampling method was used to continuously incorporate 372 undergraduate nursing students(internship time ? 8 months)in a nursing school of a Chinese medicine university in a certain province.After obtaining the consent of the relevant departments,the general information questionnaire,the Chinese version of the nurses' psychological capital questionnaire,the nursing professional identity questionnaire and the nurses' willingness to work questionnaire was issued before the class meeting,and the nursing students completed the questionnaire independently.Finally,the questionnaire was reconciled by two researchers on the spot.After initial screening and sorting of the recycling questionnaire,the original data was entered usingEpidata3.0,and SPSS22.0 was used for data statistics and analysis.Result1.The total score of 372 nursing undergraduates who are willing to work in the post-internship period was(2.88±0.675)points.The highest score of item 2 “there are other job opportunities to leave the nursing position” was(4.06±0.810),and the item 4“I never thought about leaving the nursing position” scored at the lowest(2.27±1.090).Besides,After comparing the intent to stay scores of nursing undergraduates,there were significantly differences among the groups on gender,the choice of nursing professional,looking at employment prospects and nurse professional exam pressure(P<0.05),but there were no difference among the groups on age,whether it is the only child,the place of birth and the role of a class cadre(P>0.05).2.The total psychological capital score of 372 nursing undergraduates was(4.37±0.623),and the dimensions were ranked according to the scores.From high to low,the self-efficacy(4.48±0.682),optimism(4.44±0.893),hope(4.32±0.737)and resilience(4.24±0.705)were followed.After comparing the psychological capital scores of nursing undergraduates,there were significantly differences among the groups on looking at employment prospects and nurse professional exam pressure(P<0.05),but there were no difference among the groups on gender,age,whether it is the only child,the place of birth,the role of a class cadre and the choice of nursing professional(P>0.05).3.The total professional identity score of 372 undergraduate students in the post-internship period was(3.21±0.622)points.After ranking according to the score,the highest score for each dimension was occupational autonomy(3.68±0.714),and the lowest score was the retention benefit and turnover risk(2.84±0.825).4.The psychological capital of nursing undergraduate students was positively correlated with the intent to stay in the post,but the correlation coefficient was not large(r=0.134,P<0.05).The intent to stay and professional identity(r=0.632,P<0.01),psychological capital and occupational identity(r=0.424,P<0.01)were moderately positively correlated and statistically significant.5.Professional identity,looking at employment prospects,and gender were the main factors predicting the intent to stay of undergraduate students in the post-internship period.They could explain 41.9% of the total variance of nursing undergraduates' intent to stay in the post-internship period,and the effect of professional identity was the most significant.Conclusion1.Nursing undergraduates' psychological capital,professional identity and willingness to stay in the post-internship are at a medium level.2.Nursing undergraduates' intent to stay in the post-internship period is influenced by gender,the choice of nursing professional methods,the employment prospects,and the pressure on nurses' practice exams.3.The intent to stay of nursing students is significantly positively correlated with professional identity;The psychological capital of nursing students is significantly positively correlated with professional identity;Professional identity is a significant predictor of retention willingness.4.Nursing educators and administrators should pay attention to the changes in psychological status and nursing career in the later stages of nursing students' internship,and take relevant measures to intervene.They can enhance the professional identity of nursing students through scientific and reasonable vocational education,and help nursing students to positively look at nursing employment prospects.At the same time,according to gender differences,appropriate guidance,enhance their effectiveness,optimism,hope,resilience,and ultimately improve the willingness of nursing undergraduate students in the post-internship period,stabilize the nursing team and service quality.
