Objective:By investigating the status of emotional intelligence,coping style and job burnout of junior nurses,and the correlation among emotional intelligence,coping style and job burnout of junior nurses was explored,so as to provide reference for effective intervention measures to alleviate job burnout of junior nurses,so as to stabilize the nursing talent team.To optimize the management of nursing human resources.Methods:306 junior nurses from 3 tertiary general hospitals in Nanchang City,Jiangxi Province were investigated with general information questionnaire,emotional intelligence scale,simple coping style scale and occupational burnout scale.The data were analyzed by SPSS 19.0 software.The statistical methods included descriptive analysis,t-test,one-way ANOVA,Pearson correlation analysis and multiple linear regression analysis.Results:(1)The total score of emotional intelligence of junior nurses was(66.96 ±14.60).The scores of four dimensions were: self-evaluation(19.54± 4.63),emotional control(16.28 ±4.70),emotional use(16.04 ±4.57)and others' emotional evaluation(15.09±4.21).The total score of coping style of junior nurses was(33.41 ±7.63),of which positive coping style was(24.41 ±5.67)and negative coping style was(9.01 ±4.37)compared with the national norm.The results showed that the positive coping style score of junior nurses was higher than the national norm(P<0.01),while the negative coping style score was lower than the national norm(P<0.01).The total score of burnout of junior nurses was(61.80±14.89).The scores of emotional exhaustion,depersonalization and personal achievement were(26.07±8.89),(9.75±5.76)and(25.98±8.62).The results showed that the scores of emotional exhaustion and depersonalization of junior nurses in this group were significantly higher than those of M's norm and Hangzhou's norm.The scores of personal accomplishment weresignificantly lower than those of M's norm and Hangzhou nurse norm(P < 0.01).(2)The scores of emotional intelligence of junior nurses in terms of education,parents' location,and teaching were statistically different(P < 0.05);the scores of coping style in terms of age and education were statistically different(P < 0.05);the scores of job burnout in terms of gender,average number of night shifts per month and personnel form were statistically different(P < 0.05).(3)Emotional intelligence and its dimensions of junior nurses were positively correlated with positive coping(p < 0.01),negatively correlated with emotional exhaustion and depersonalization(p < 0.01),and positively correlated with personal accomplishment(p < 0.01).Positive coping was negatively correlated with emotional exhaustion and depersonalization(p < 0.05),and positively correlated with personal accomplishment(p < 0.01).Negative coping was positively correlated with emotional exhaustion and depersonalization(p < 0.01).(4)The predictive effect of emotional intelligence and coping style on Job Burnout of junior nurses.Among them,negative self-emotional assessment predicts depersonalization and positive predicts personal accomplishment;positive emotional control predicts personal accomplishment;negative emotional use predicts emotional exhaustion;positive others' emotional assessment predicts emotional exhaustion and positive predicts depersonalization;positive coping with negative predicts emotional exhaustion and depersonalization,positive predicts personal accomplishment,and negative coping with positive predicts emotional exhaustion.Depersonalization and exhaustion negatively predict personal accomplishment.Conclusions:(1)Emotional intelligence of junior nurses in this group is at the middle level,and job burnout is serious.(2)The junior nurses in this group can adopt positive coping style in most cases.(3)The demographic variables such as gender,age,educational background,parents' location,clinical teaching situation,personnel form and average number of night shifts per month have certain effects on emotional intelligence,coping style and job burnout of junior nurses.(4)Emotional intelligence,coping style and job burnout of junior nurses weresignificantly correlated.(5)Emotional intelligence and coping style of junior nurses can predict their job burnout.
