Objective:To investigate nurses' s knowledge-attitude-practice(KAP)status about using venous access device in five Tertiary-A hospitals in Nanchang,Jiang xi province, analyze the influencing factors and explore the correlation among knowledge, attitude and practice,in order to provide scientific basis for improving the effect of theoretical and skill training on the application of venous access device in nurses.Methods:1.Establish project team, with the KAP theory working as the theoretical framework, from October 2017 to March 2018,the standards, guidelines and literature of venous access device at home and abroad are extensively reviewed, the questionnaire items of using venous access device were designed according to the research group.2.The preliminary questionnaire was formed through two rounds of expert consultation from June to August 2018.3.A pilot investigation was conducted among nurses using convenient sampling in 5 Tertiary-A hospitals in Nan chang from August to September 2018,test the reliability and validity of the questionnaire, finally, formal questionnaire was formed.4.From October to December 2018,convenience sampling method was adopted to select 412 nurses from 5 Tertiary-A hospitals in Nanchang,Jiang xi province.formal questionnaire was used to investigate the knowledge, attitude and practice about using venous access device in nurses, and analyze the influencing factors and the correlation among the three dimensions.Results:1.The questionnaire composed of 3 dimensions, with a total of 41 items, the total Cronbach's a coefficient is 0.901,and the Cronbach's a coefficient of knowledge, attitude and behavior scale is respectively 0.610,0.936,0.822,exploratory factor analysis(KMO)value was 0.845,the cumulative variance contribution rate was53.374%,the I-CVI in each item of the questionnaire were 0.87 ~ 1.00,and S-CVI/Ave were 0.99,the questionnaire developed has good reliability and validity and is suitable for clinical application.2.The average scores of knowledge, attitude and practice of nurses in venous access device application were respectively 23.40±2.61,66.77±6.96,71.96±6.14.3.Univariate analysis revealed that there were statistically significant differences in knowledge scores of nurses of different age, professional title, working years, nurse level, application of central venous catheter, and source of knowledge for application of venous access devices(p<0.05);There were statistically significant differences in attitude scores of nurses of different age, professional title, working years, nurse level, and source of knowledge for application of venous access devices(p<0.05);There were statistically significant differences in practice scores of nurses of different age, professional title, working years, nurse level, and source of knowledge for application of venous access devices(p<0.05).4.Multiple regression analysis showed that the main factors influencing the nurses' knowledge-attitude-practice about using venous access device were the application of central venous catheter, professional titles, age, and source of knowledge for application of venous access devices.5.There was a correlation between knowledge, attitude and practice of nurses in using venous access device, and the correlation coefficients were 0.20,0.25 and 0.43,which were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.The questionnaire designed in this study has good reliability and validity, which is suitable for clinical promotion.2.This survey found that nurses had poor knowledge of venous access device, especially not familiar with pharmacology and maintenance of venous access device, they had positive attitude and behavior in using venous access device, but still need to be further improved.3.Nurses' knowledge-attitude-practice of using venous access device were correlated with multiple factors, including the application of central venous catheter, professional titles, age, and source of knowledge for application of venous access devices, therefore it is suggested that nursing administrators should strengthen the standardized training and develop operational evaluation criteria in the application of venous access device, pay attention to the effect evaluation and feedback of quality,to ensure that nurses are familiar with the basic and new knowledge of venous access device, have awareness of the risks associated with intravenous therapy, master the selection and maintenance technology of venous access device,so as to reduce the complication rate of venous access device and promote the scientific development of intravenous therapy technology.4.Research shows that there is a positive correlation between the knowledge, attitude and practice of nurses in using venous access device. The higher the knowledge level of nurses, the higher the score of their attitude and practice, similarly,if nurses hold a positive attitude towards management and knowledge training in using venous access device, the higher the knowledge level and the better the behavior performance.
