Objectives:By investigating the status of knowledge,attitude and practice on children safemedication of pediatric nurse, to acknowledge the level of knowledge,attitude andpractice on children safe medication of pediatric nurse, to explore the related factorsthat influencing the knowledge,attitude and practice on children safe medication ofpediatric nurse, to propose feasibility recommendations to enhance safe medication ofpediatric nurse,to provide a reference and learn to strengthen pediatric nurse’smanagement on safe medication.Methods:This research selected323pediatric nurses from4hospitals in Changchun as therespondents by convenience sampling method in July2014-September, usedself-designed questionnaire which includes two parts: the general data of pediatricnurse and the investigation of knowledge,attitude and practice on children safemedication of pediatric nurses. The questionnaire was given and recycled on the spot,the valid questionnaires was entered Epidata3.1, and analyzed by the SPSS17.0. Thegeneral data of pediatric nurse was described by descriptives such as frequency,percentage,the score of knowledge,attitude and practice on children safe medicationwere described by descriptives as mean, standard deviation, maximum,minimum,percentage and so on,analyzed by t-test, ANOVA,Kruskal-wallis H testand Bonferroni method.The factors of knowledge,attitude and practice on childrensafe medication of pediatric nurse were with multiple step wise regression analysis.Results:1.The gross score on knowledge,attitude and practice on children safe medication of pediatric nurses was101~166points, the average score was (139.90±14.20) points, the average score of knowledge was (9.13±2.18)points,the averagescore of attitude was (72.79±6.40)points,the average score of practice was (57.98±9.83)points.After the average score of KAP gross knowledge,attitude and practicewere turned to percentage,the percentage was81.81%、57.06%、85.64%、82.83%.2.On the knowledge investigation of safe medication of pediatric nurse, eachdimensions were arrayed from highest to lowest: medical attention, medicalcalculation methods and medical operations, drug dosage, pharmacologyknowledge,the pharmacology knowledge has the lowest score,its percentage was only33.50%. On the attitude investigation of safe medication of pediatric nurse, eachdimensions were arrayed from highest to lowest: strict check and sterile concept,medication observation and shift consciousness, performing security practices, activelearn drug knowledge.On the practice investigation of safe medication of Pediatricnurse,3dimensions were arrayed from highest to lowest:aseptic operation, checkingand monitoring, accurate calculation and operation.3.As univariate analysis shows that the knowledge score of safe medication ofpediatric nurses have a statistical difference(P<0.05) on age, with or without children,initial degree, final education, title, work time, employment form, income, whetherreceived medication training; the attitude score of safe medication of pediatric nurseshave a statistical difference (P<0.05) on age, department,with or without children,initial degree, final education, title, work time, employment form;the practice score ofsafe medication of pediatric nurses have a statistical difference(P<0.05) on age,department, initial degree, work time, employment form,income.4.Multivariate analysis results show that age, title, work time, whether receivedmedication training were entered regression equation of safe medication knowledgescore of pediatric nurses;department,title,work time, employment form were enteredregression equation of safe medication attitude score of pediatric nurses; departments,work time were entered regression equation of safe medication practice score ofpediatric nurse. Conclusion:1.The pediatric nurses in Changchun’s hospital were generally hold positiveattitude toward children safe medication, safe medication behavior also showedpositive more forward momentum,but the mastery of safe medication knowledge ofpediatric nurses had some discrepancy with attitude and practice.2.The lowest score of each dimensions of knowledge,attitude and practice onsafe medication of pediatric nurse were pharmacology knowledge,active attitude learndrug knowledge and accurate medical calculation and medical operation.The highestscore of each dimensions of knowledge, attitude and practice were medicalattention,strict check and sterile concept and aseptic operation,so we can saw thatpediatric nurses were lack of pharmacology knowledge and lack of positive attitude ofgrasping safe medication knowledge.3.The knowledge,attitude and practice on children safe medication of pediatricnurses were influenced by different factors,among them the master degree of safemedication knowledge to pediatric nurses was influenced by the factors of age,title,work time and whether received medication training;safe medication attitude topediatric nurses was influenced by the factors of department,title,work time andemployment form,the factors of safe medication practice to pediatric nurses weredepartment and work time.4.Strengthen pediatric nurse ethics training for children and learn safemedication knowledge,to improve safe medication awareness of pediatric nurse.
