Observation On Therapeutic Effect Of Acupuncture Needle Rapid Needling On Third Lumbar Transverse Process Syndrome

Objective:To evaluate the clinical efficiency of rapid acupuncture needling in the treatment of third lumbar transverse process syndrome,and to provide a new method with better curative effect and less injury in acupuncture treatment for this disease.Methodology 96 patients with transverse process syndrome of the third lumbar spine were randomly divided into two groups,48 cases in each group.The rapid needling group was treated with the millineedle rapid needling method initiated by Huang Qian,Director of Acupuncture and Moxibustion Department,Lianyungang Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine,and the conventional group was treated with the conventional needling method.Observing the Mcgill score scale and clinical sign score before and after treatment,the author uesd the musculoskeletal ultrasonography to measure the thickest muscles at the end of the three transverse processes of the lumbar spine relying on the LOGIQ E9 color ultrasound diagnostic instrument of GE Company in the United States.The clinical efficacy of the two groups was compared according to the evaluation criteria issued by the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine(NTCM).Results:1.After one week of treatment,the Mcgill score and clinical sign score in the two groups were significantly lower than those before treatment(P<0.01).There was no significant distinction in the Mcgill score and clinical sign score between the comparison group and the conventional group(P>0.05).2.After two weeks of treatment,the Mcgill score and clinical sign score in the two groups were significantly lower than those before treatment(P<0.01),and the Mcgill score and clinical sign score of the comparison group was significantly lower than that of the conventional group(P<0.05);3.After 4 weeks of treatment,Mcgill score and clinical sign score were significantly lower in the two groups(P<0.01),and Mcgill score was significantly lower in the comparison group after 4 weeks of treatment than in the conventional group(P<0.01),and clinical sign score of the comparison group was significantly lower than that in the conventional group(P<0.05);4.The recovery rate was 87.500%and the total effective rate was 100%,which was significantly higher than that of the conventional group(recovery rate 43.750%and the total effective rate 97.917%).5.The muscle thickness of the rapid needling group decreased significantly after treatment,and the difference value was significantly higher than that of the conventional group before and after treatment(P<0.01).Conclusion:The treatment of transverse process syndrome of the third lumbar spine with rapid acupuncture needling can significantly reduce the Mcgill score and sign score,relieve the degree of pain,significantly alleviate local soft tissue edema and eliminate inflammation.The clinical effect is better than that of conventional needling,and the operation is simple.It is worth popularizing and applying widely in clinical acupuncture and moxibustion.
