Clinical Observation Of Proximal Needling Combined With Electro-acupuncture Therapy In Treatment Of Third Lumbar Transverse Process Syndrome

Objective To observe and evaluate the therapeutic effect of proximal needling combined with electro-acupuncture therapy in treatment of third lumbar transverse process syndrome. We want to provide a more convenient and effective method in treatment of third lumbar transverse process syndrome by this randomized controlled study.Methods All 60 patients with Third lumbar transvserse process syndrome were Randomly assigned to control group and treatment group.Patients in the treatment group treated with proximal needling combined with electro-acupuncture therapy. Patients in the control group treated with Electric acupuncture only.Both of them were one day one time.5 times one week and to be a period of treatment.We had set up 3 course of treatment.The JOA score and VAS were used to evaluate the clinical effect of therapy by the improvement degree of the score before and after treatment.Results 1. The VAS in the two groups before and after treatment were significant difference (P=0.00<0.01). Two groups of treatment to improve the symptom both have effect.2.After the treatment.the VAS between the two groups had a significant difference (P=0.01<0.05).Treatment group was better than control group in the improving of the symptom.3.JOA score evaluation:the JOA scores before and after the treatment with significant difference(P=0.02<0.05).The effective rate in treatment group was 93.33% and it was only 83.33% in the control group.So the therapy in the treatment group has better clinical effect than the other.Conclusions Proximal needling combined with electro-acupuncture therapy in treatment of third lumbar transverse process syndrome has certain clinical curative effect. The treatment is suitable for the base Acupuncture doctors to master,can be used as a traditional Chinese medicine appropriate technology popularization.
