Objective:The purpose of this paper is to study the clinical characteristics of CVST,and to explore the risk factors of seizures in patients with CVST.In this study, clinical data such as age, gender, etiology, clinical manifestations and imaging data of CVST patients with or without seizures are retrospectively analyzed.Accordingly,we can not only improve our understanding of CVST but also to make a more comprehensive understanding of the characteristics of seizures in CVST patients,so as to achieve better diagnosis and treatment, reduce the pain caused by seizures in patients with CVST at the same time. Methods:Analyzing retrospectively clinical features of 126 cases with CVST admitted in the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University from Jan.2012 to Feb.2019,we divided those cases into epilepsy group(33 cases)and non-epileptic group(93 cases)according to whether there was seizure in the course of the disease.Besides, the general situation, etiology, clinical manifestations, imaging examination, and venous sinus of the two groups were compared and analyzed, too. All data were analyzed by SPSS 22.0 statistical software.Age was expressed by means of ±SD,and t-test was used to compare the two groups. Each set of data was expressed as frequency and percentage(%),and the ?2 test was used for comparison between groups.Firstly, the independent variables with statistical significance were screened out by chi-square analysis, then the independent risk factors of epileptic seizures in CVST patients were determined by binary logistic regression analysis, and the odds ratio(OR)and 95%confidence interval(CI)were calculated.P < 0.05 had statistical significance.Results:1.Among the 126 CVST patients, there was no significant difference in the incidence between men and women(male: 67,female: 59),the youngest patient was 9years old,the largest was 72 years old,and the average age was 34.51±7.42 years old.2.Headache,nausea and vomiting are the most common clinical manifestationsof CVST,followed by seizures and paralysis.3.The main causes of the CVST are infection, pregnancy or puerperium, nephrotic syndrome, hyperhomocysteinemia, brain trauma,hyperthyroidism.4.The main imaging manifestations were cerebral infarction ? hemorrhagic cerebral infarction ? cerebral hemorrhage ? subarachnoid hemorrhage?unilateral or bilateral cerebral cerebral gyrus?abnormal signal in brain parenchyma, and ventricle compression.5.Among the various venous sinus accumulated by CVST,the superior longitudinal sinus is most likely to form a thrombus, followed by the transverse sinus. Conclusion:In this research, risk factors such as pregnant/perinatal?coma? and cerebral hemorrhage thrombosis were independently associated with seizure onset after CVST.Targeted treatment should be given as soon as possible.
