Analysis On The Degree Of Satisfaction In The Use Of Community Health

Objective:Based on literature review and field interviews,the present study generates a comprehensive understanding on the health status of the residents in Binhai New Area of Tianjin,and their use of community health services and degree of satisfaction.The study also conducts analyses on the factors which influence the degree of satisfaction in the use of community health services.Specific strategies on the sound development of public health services are therefore proposed to better satisfy the demands for health services of the residentsMethods:The study conducts field interviews with a randomized sample group of 2,560 residents from 8 communities using questionnaire.Descriptive analyses are made in social-demographic characteristics,two-week morbidity,chronic disease morbidity,history of hospitalization,and choice for medical cares.Statistical methodologies such as Pearson's chi-squared test and non condition logistic regression analysis are employed in the comprehensive analyses on the factors which influence the use of community health services.Contents:Social-demographic characteristics of the residents such as gender,age,educational background,employment and annual income per capita,etc;health status of the residents such as two-week morbidity,chronic disease morbidity with six months,etc;use of community health services including two-week consultation rate,choice of medial service and reasons for non-consultation;factors which influence the degree of satisfaction in the use of community health servicesResults:The two-week morbidity of the residents is 24.08%,chronic disease morbidity is 22.68%,two weeks consultation rate is 18.48%and non-consultation rate is 26.41%,the main reasons of which are self-treatment,degree of seriousness and economic difficulty.The main chronic disease is high blood pressure,morbidity rate is 16.04%.Annual hospitalization rate is 4.40%,and main choices of medical care are community health service centre and medical care station.63.6%of the residents are generally satisfied with community health services,and 13.4%are very satisfied.One-factor analysis reveals that eleven factors including age,queuing time for consultation,clinical respect,and privacy protection are the key factors influencing the degree of satisfaction in the use of community health services.Non condition logistic regression analysis reveals that,technical capacity,service attitude,consultation fee,age and clinical environment are the key factors influencing.Conclusion:The Community Health services in the investigated area have achieved good results.The residents are satisfied with the use of community health service.An effect of "treating minor illness with community health service and major ones at hospital" has formed.In the meantime,the awareness for using community health service and health consciousness should be further heightened.The need for basic medical treatment should be further transformed into demand for health service,with priorities given to target groups.With considerations for key factors influencing the degree of satisfaction in the use of community health services,proposals for the development of community health service agencies are raised to improve the performance of community health service.
