Objective To measure the prevalence of gout in the Jinchang cohort, and to analyse the influence factors of gout in the Jinchang cohort,Gansu province,in order to provide scientific evidence for prospective future interventions. Methods The study population were 42,120 participants(26,007 men,16,113 women)in the Jinchang cohort from June 2011 to September 2012,obtaining epidemiological data from face-to-face interviews and biochemical indicators from blood tests.Epidemiological surveys including general demographic characteristics, behavioral characteristics, employment history, medical history, and family history.Physiological and biochemical indicators include height and weight, blood pressure and blood indicators.Through the above data, logistic regression was used to identify the influence factors of gout in the Jinchang cohort.Results1.There were a total of 254 cases of gout in the Jinchang cohort, with an overall prevalence.of 6.03‰.There were 218 cases among men for a prevalence of 8.38‰ and 36 cases among women for a prevalence of 2,23 ‰.The 70?age group had the highest prevalence at 11.02‰,and the 20-age group had the lowest prevalence at 0.95‰.Prevalence in the 20-50 age group demonstrated an increasing trend, and stabilized after the 50?age group.Except in the 20?,60?,and 70?age groups, the prevalence was statistically significantly different between sexes in the other age groups.Prevalence was 3.76 times higher in males than in females,a statistically significant difference.Prevalence among men, ranging from 1.11‰ t0 11.21‰,increased in the 20?39 age groups and stabilized after the 40?age group.Prevalence among women, ranging from 0.58‰ to 5.74‰,increased in the 20?49 age groups and stabilized after the 50?age group.2.The influence factors of gout among lmales include older age, high oil consumption, high sugar consumption, high alcohol consumption, central obesity, high blood pressure, high triglycerides, diabetes, hyperuricemia as risk factors, and high bean consumption, high HDL cholesterol as protective factors. The influence factors of gout among female include high oil consumption, high smoking index, low HDL cholesterol, and hyperuricemia as risk factors.Conclusion1.The prevalence of gout in the Jinchang cohort is comparatively high compared to other studies in mainland China, the prevalence among male is greater than among females, with an increasing trend among males aged 20?39 and females aged 20?49,with a slower increase among older males and females.Preventive interventions, including education and health programs, should target these high-risk populations.2.Lipid metabolism is an intermediate indicator of gout, high indices of lipid metabolism are risk factors affecting the Jinchang cohort;strengthening control of lipid metabolism may lower the incidence of gout in the population.3.As gout and metabolic diseases such as obesity, high blood pressure, and diabetes have common risk factors, gout should be incorporated into metabolic diseases.
