Objectives To determine the prevalence of coronary heart disease(CHD)in Jinchang Cohort, and to identify the effects of the population living habits, physiological and biochemical indexes and various metabolic diseases on CHD,in order to provide a theoretical basis for prevention and health decision making among patients with CHD,and for a future large-scale epidemiological study on CHD in China. Methods All current and retired workers of the Jinchuan Group in Gansu province were interviewed with a questionnaire from June 2011 to December 2013.Demographic characteristics, living habits, characteristics of vocational behavior, chronic disease history and family history and physiological biochemical markers were collected. This cross-sectional study was designed to analyze the prevalence and possible influencing factors of CHD in the population. The casecontrol study was conducted with patients with CHD as the case group and people not suffering from CHD as the control group,Logistic regression analysis was used to study the relationship between CHD and demographic characteristics, living habits, physiological and biochemical indexes and various metabolic diseases. Results 1.The prevalence of CHD was 3.07% in the Jinchang Cohort. It is higher in males(3.32%)than in females(2.68%).It shows a increasing trend with the increasing age, especially after the age of 50,in all ages of both sexes for coronary heart disease prevalence is relatively close. The prevalence of CHD decreased with increased culture degree. The prevalence of CHD is higher among indoor service personnel(5.98%),people with income between 10000 and 1999,2000 and 4999RMB/month(3.12%?3.09%),and people who are widowed(10.02%).2.The prevalence of CHD is higher among smoking(3.64%),mental trauma(5.04%),and depression(4.37%).The prevalence of CHD increased with increasing smoking index and drinking index.3.The prevalence of CHD rose with the increase of BMI,cholesterol, low density lipoprotein levels, uric acid levels and fasting plasma glucose levels, and decrease with increasing high density lipoprotein levels.4.The prevalence of CHD among people with hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, obesity,or hyperuricemia is significantly higher than among the normal population. The prevalence of CHD in various disease populations showed a rising trend with increase of the age.5.There were several influencing factors for the prevalence of CHD in the Jinchang Cohort. The risk factors for males were age, smoking index, trauma and depression, fasting plasma glucose, hypertension and diabetes. The protective factor was the level of high density lipoprotein. The risk factors for females were age, smoking, trauma and depression,BMI,fastingplasma glucose, hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia and obesity. The protective factor was the level of high density lipoprotein. Conclusion 1.The prevalence of CHD is high in the Jinchang Cohort. The prevalence is higher among males than females.Male with obesity are at high risk for CHD than the population without obesity,Person with smoking?trauma and depression are also at high risk for CHD.2.The risk of CHD was closely related to hypertension, diabetes, obesity, hyperlipidemia and hyperuricemia.3.Coronary heart disease is the result of multiple risk factors in the Jinchang Cohort..Age,smoking,drinking,mental trauma and depression are important risk factors for coronary heart disease.BMI > 30,cholesterol and fasting plasma glucose are the risk factors of coronary heart disease.High density lipoprotein is the protective factor for coronary heart disease.
