A Meta-analysis Of TCM On Preventing And Treating Capecitabine Related Hand Foot Syndrome

Objective:By screening the literature on the intervention of TCM in capecitabine related hand foot syndrome,and using the method of meta analysis,we discussed the effectiveness of Chinese medicine in preventing and treating capecitabine related hand foot syndrome.To provide evidence for the future intervention of Chinese medicine in capecitabine related hand foot syndrome.Methods: Retrieving literature on the RCT of TCM intervention in HFS which is from CNKI?Wanfang Date?VIP?CBM and Pubmed Database from 1998 to 2017,according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria,the Jadad scale was used to evaluate the quality of the included literature,and the data of incidence rate,HFS classification,clinical effective rate,quality of life(KPS)and onset time were extracted.The data were analyzed by meta with Review Manager 5.3 software.Results: Including 22 articles about TCM to preventing capecitabine related hand foot syndrome.In the incidence,OR=0.40,95%CI=[0.32,0.51],Z=7.52,P<0.00001.According to the HFS classification,the subgroup analysis was carried out on the stage I ? II and III.Stage I OR=0.66,95%CI=[0.50,0.87],Z=2.97,P=0.003.Stage II OR=0.48,95%CI=[0.34,0.68],Z=4.24,P<0.0001.Stage III OR=0.46,95%CI=[0.27,0.78],Z=2.87,P=0.004.In the evaluation of quality of life,KPS score,MD=7.69,95%CI=[6.32,9.73],Z=10.95,P <0.00001;at the time of onset,MD=17.27,95%CI=[14.76,19.79],Z=13.47,P<0.00001.Including 15 articles about TCM to treating capecitabine related hand foot syndrome.In the clinical efficiency,OR=5.72,95%CI=[4.02,8.13],Z=9.68,P<0.00001;In the evaluation of quality of life,KPS score,MD=0.75,95%CI=[-1.18,2.68,Z=0.76,P=0.45.Conclusion: 1.TCM in preventing capecitabine related hand foot syndrome have advantages about the incidence,HFS classification,the quality of life,the time of onset.2.TCM in treating capecitabine related hand foot syndrome have advantages about the clinical efficiency.3.The efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine in the prevention and treatment of capecitabine-related HFS is similar to that of external administration.4.It is suggested that more rigorous randomized controlled study should be designed for clinical study of TCM in the future.
