Research On The Relationship Among The Undergraduates' Suicide Attitude,Empathy,PBC And Helping Behavior

In recent years,the problem of suicide burnout among college students has aroused the widespread concern of education and society.As one of the effective social support factors,peers are the secondary protection early warning in the five-level protection mechanism to prevent psychological crisis.According the Phases-Decision-Making Model of help-seeking process,close friends are the first helpers for students suffering psychological problems,and they are important influential factors affecting the final behavior of the suicidal.However,from detecting suicide problems to providing suicide intervention,there are many factors impede the occurrence of helping behavior.At present,researchs on suicide issues and interventions are mainly focused on the suicide attitudes from the aspect of the potential suicidal,and lacking of the systematic and in-depth analysis of suicide intervention assistance from the perspective of peer intervention.Therefore,it has important theoretical and practical significance to understand what make it accounts on the helping behavior when the college peers in face with the suicide problems.In this study,research objects(770 undergraduates)were selceted from three universities in WuHan.From the perspective of the suicidals' college peers,preliminary discuss the influence of suicide attitude,empathy ability and PBC on the suicide intervention.With such two main methods as correlation analysis and mediating effect analysis,this paper tries to explore the relationship among suicide attitude,empathy ability,PBC and the help-giving behavior.The results of the study are follows:(1)The empathy ability and helping behavior exist significant differences in gender.(2)The suicide attitude,empathy ability,PBC and helping behavior does not exist significant differences in grade level.(3)The suicide behavior dimension and the euthanasia dimension of suicide attitude exist significant differences in hometown location.(4)The PBC and helping behavior burnout exist significant differences between the student leaders and normal students.(5)There is a significant correlation between the undergraduates' suicide attitude,empathy ability,PBC and helping behavior.(6)The empathy ability has mediating effect in the relationship between the undergraduates' suicide attitude and helping behavior.(7)The PBC has mediating effect in the relationship between the undergraduates'suicide attitude and helping behavior.
