| In recent years, suicide has become one of the most important public health issues in the current society. The suicide incidents among youth groups have received special attention from the public. In 2015,the suicide rate of college students in China was about 2.37 per 100,000,and suicide deaths accounted for abnormal deaths of young people. Therefore,it is becoming more and more important to intervene in young people ’s suicide. So far,the public’s understanding of mental health and suicide intervention is still at a low level, and young people’s attitudes towards suicide and suicide intervention have greatly affected The suicide of them and their companions. The purpose of this article is to understand the attitudes of young people to suicide and suicide intervention through research, and to explore the differences in demographic variables such as gender,age,year-round residence and education level of young people’s attitudes to suicide and suicide intervention.People’s awareness of suicide intervention and crisis intervention by mental health service workers make feasible suggestions.Through quantitative and qualitative research, this paper explores young people’s attitudes to suicide(including suicide, suicide, suicide family, euthanasia)and suicide intervention.Research 1 is a quantitative study.Through a convenient sampling method,a total of 540 questionnaires were collected.Among them, there were 498 valid questionnaires, with an effective rate of 92.22%.The age of the participants was 19.48±3.43.There were 271 male students(55.4%)and 227 female students(54.6%).The"Suicide Attitude Questionnaire" compiled by Xiao Shuiyuan and others in 1999 were divided into four dimensions:understanding of the nature of suicidal behavior, attitude towards suicide, attitude towards suicide’s family, and attitude towards euthanasia. In addition, the "Suicide Prevention Attitude Scale" compiled by Herron et al.In 2001 was used. The researchers in this article translated the scale into Chinese and adjusted and revised some items to form the Chinese version of the Suicide Prevention Attitude Scale.Study 2 is a qualitative study. After soliciting the willingness from the questionnaire participants, the researcher selected six interviewees(aged between 19 and 25,three boys and three girls). The interviewees conducted interviews for about 15-20 minutes, and learned about their attitudes towards suicide and suicide intervention, and their attitudes towards the necessity of suicide intervention.Coding and analysis of interview data through open coding based on grounded theory. The research results found that:(1)In the overall attitude of suicide, the score of the scale shows that young people are neutral or ambivalent. They believe that suicide is an irresponsible behavior, but people should have the right to choose suicide.Interviewees in qualitative research believe that suicide is caused by multiple factors affecting interactions, but do not support people to use suicide to solve problems.(2)In terms of attitudes towards suicide, the scale score shows that young people are neutral or contradictory, but the interviewees have three attitudes of understanding, neutrality and rejection. They will reasonably analyze the reasons behind the suicide incident.Regrets the occurrence of suicides, and is more disgusted with external factors such as cyber violence that cause suicides.(3)In terms of attitudes towards suicides, the scale scores show that young people are neutral or contradictory.Young people believe that suicidal thoughts produced by suicides are caused by personal factors and external environmental factors.Faced with people at risk of suicide, young people may take different measures according to the degree of intimacy, take the initiative to help close people, and take a distant attitude toward those who are not close.(4)On the attitude of the family members of the suicide, the scale score is neutral or contradictory. Some of the items are the same as the attitude of the young people in the interview. They believe that the family members of the suicide are responsible for the suicide, but they also need to get psychological assistance.(5)Attitudes towards euthanasia.Studies in both parts have shown that young people support others’ choice of euthanasia, but have different attitudes towards their families. When family members suffer from incurable diseases, young people have three attitudes:one is to support euthanasia and respect the choices of family members;the other is to be reluctant, but in the end, they will understand and agree with the family members’ choices;.If you have an incurable disease, young people support and actively choose to euthanize.(6)With regard to suicide intervention, young people’s scores on the scale show a lack of confidence in suicide intervention. In a qualitative study, the interviewees believed that suicide needs to be intervened, and some people will take intervention measures when they want suicide..Moreover,both studies show that young people have a low level of knowledge about suicide intervention. They believe that the state, society, and universities need to pay more attention to the popularization of suicide prevention-related knowledge, add psychological service institutions, and train more professional talents..(7)Demographic differences in suicide and suicide intervention attitudes.Girls, girls living in cities and towns, having suicidal experiences and suicidal thoughts, knowing people with suicidal experiences, intervening and young people who have been suicide intervened are more positive about suicide. That people have the right to choose to commit suicide.Young people who understand psychological counseling and suicide prevention knowledge and recognize people with suicidal experiences and suicide deaths have confidence in suicide intervention and believe that suicide needs to be intervened. In general, young people believe that suicide is caused by multiple factors affecting interactions, but do not support people to use suicide to solve problems. In addition, young people believe that suicide needs to be intervened, but young people have a low level of understanding of suicide and suicide intervention-related work, and they have a certain misunderstanding of suicide intervention.Psychological workers in the country and universities need Take certain measures to improve the status quo. |
