Purpose:Through this periodic effect evaluation, the problems existing in the current training program are discovered, and suggestions for improvement are put forward for the problems that arise.Gradually improve the organization and management of training, and ultimately improve the professional level and overall quality of new nurses to improve the quality of clinical nursing services.Method:In this study,205 newly recruited nurses and the head nurse of the ward from a top-three hospital in Wuhan City were selected as the survey subjects, and the Kirkpatrick's four-level model was used to evaluate the effectiveness of the training. The evaluation was conducted from the four levels of reaction layer, learning layer, behavior layer, and result layer. The reaction and behavioral layers were evaluated using self-made questionnaires and scales. The learning layer was assessed by theoretical and operational techniques. The results were analyzed by analyzing the incidence of adverse events, patient complaints, and the number of letters of commendation.SPSS19.0 software was used for statistical analysis. The frequency and percentage were used to describe the general information of the study subjects and the training nurses' satisfaction with the training program. The U test was used to analyze the differences between the theoretical results and the operating results of the new nurses during the three months of training and the six months of training, the behavioral attitudes of the new nurses, and the differences in the self-evaluation scales of the post abilities.Independent-samples T test was used to analyze the differences between head nurses and new nurses in behavioral attitudes and job performance rating scale scores.One-way analysis of variance was used to analyze the relationship between new nurses' general data and behavioral attitudes and post abilities.Result:Reaction layer: New nurses are generally satisfied with the training and have higher satisfaction with training teachers and training organizations.Learning layer: There was a statistically significant difference in the scores of new nurses between the three-month training period and the six-month training period(P<0.05).The most significant increase in test grade was nurse etiquette and hospital culture, nursing management system and laws and regulations, and ward work flow and work system.Behavior layer: The results of the new nurse's self-evaluation showed that the new nurses' clinical nursing ability and interpersonal relationship skills improved at the six months of training(P<0.05).The head nurses' behavioral evaluation and self-evaluation of the new nurses showed that the new nurses' self-evaluation was generally higher than the head nurses' evaluation, and the difference between the two scores was statistically significant(P<0.05).Result layer: The rate of complaints among new nurse patients was 0,and the accident rate was 0.The new nurses received a recognition that accounted for 20% of all letters of commendation. Conclusion:Newly recruited nurses are generally satisfied with the training.Theoretical assessments and performance assessments have been improved both before and after training.Behavioral attitudes and work abilities have also been upgraded after training. This shows that the training has achieved results. The basic knowledge of nursing, communication between nurses and patients, observation of illness and rescue cooperation are the weaknesses in the theoretical training of new recruited nurses, and they should be improved in future training.
