Research On Sustainable Utilization Of Marine Fishery Resources In Zhejiang Province

Zhejiang fishery is one of the most productive seas in China.It is an important part of fishery in the East China Sea.Marine fishing is a traditional industry in Zhejiang province,accounting for more than sixty percent of the total output of aquatic products in the province and about twenty-three percent of the total marine fishing output in the whole country.Recently,with the continuous improvement of modern mechanized way of fishing,severe overcapacity and insufficient restoration,together with intensified marine pollution,have brought serious challenges to Zhejiang Province.There is no fundamental change to the development model,which is at the expense of resource consumption and depends on extended reproduction.The annual output of marine fishing in Zhejiang has been kept at the level of million tons for 20 consecutive years,and more than eighty-five percent of the output comes from offshore fishing.Long-term overfishing has caused severe damage to offshore fish spawning grounds in China,and marine fishery resources have been seriously declined,which has become the core issue of sustainable development of Zhejiang fishery economy and its management.This paper aimed at the sustainable utilization of marine fishery resources in Zhejiang province.Current situation and development process of marine fishery in Zhejiang province was analyzed based on a lot of relevant statistical data.The non-equilibrium yield model proposed by Walters & Hilborn was implied to calculate the maximum sustainable yield,and a new model was constructed to evaluate the capacity of offshore fishery resources.The future development trend of fishing vessel power was predicted through time series analysis,the current development and utilization of marine fishery resources in Zhejiang province was evaluated and analyzed on the basis of existing marine fishery data,after that,the causes of over-utilization were analyzed.Finally,the strategies of sustainable utilization of marine fishery resources were put forward.
