| China is aging rapidly with a growing elderly population.In order to promote the eldercare business and integrate elderly care with senior medical services,we should implement the Healthy China 2030 Strategy proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping at the 19 th National Congress and establish a social system where the aged are cared and respected.Based on the current landscape designs at nursing homes nationwide and an overarching aim of better facilitating the seniors and promote their health,we propose an upgrading plan for the Xi’an Golden Fall Nursing Home with the focus of increasing senior involvement and improving planting.We discuss the application of landscape design geared towards the older population at a nursing home from the perspective of a healthy landscaping through case studying with the aim of setting up an ideal neighborhood for the seniors.In this paper we suggest a landscape upgrade for the Golden Fall Nursing Home in Xi’an,Shanxi Province,China based on their current landscape and discuss the application of elderly friendly landscaping in nursing homes from the perspective of healthy landscaping.By looking at the current landscape,ecology,transport,etc.at Golden Fall,we discuss the principles and methodology for designing a healthy,senior friendly landscape with a focus on improving its fundamental functions.We look forward to design a characteristic landscape targeting at the elderly and hope this study can serve as reference for future researches. |
