Research On Adaptive Space Design Of Nursing Home For The Elderly With Dementia

Nowadays,population aging has become increasingly prominent in various fields of society.With the increase of aged population,the problem of the elderly with dementia aroused more and more concern.Along with the deepening of aging degree in China,prevalence of elderly dementia increases,which has brought great pressure to the country,society and family.As for architecture design,researches about the dementia elderly has just started,it is not mature enough yet.Most of the existing pension institutions in China do not tend to accept people with dementia,and few of them have the ability to support professional environment or care.However,the demand for institutional care of people with dementia is enormous.Now there is no effective treatment method for dementia,but a well-designed environment and attentive care can help slow down the development of dementia.So that people with dementia can live more comfortable and calm,with more dignity.Through the case study of current development of domestic and foreign advanced achievements,combined with the comprehensive analysis of field research in Beijing,Shanghai and Guangzhou,the project the writer participated in,the article puts forward the design strategy of adaptive space design of nursing home for the elderly with dementia,and explores the pattern and development trend,hoping it can provide some valuable working ideas and methods of institutional pension space design for the elderly with dementia.
