Study On Stonework Of The Modern Buildings In Guangzhou

In ancient China,stone-based construction plays an important role in Chinese traditional construction system.Architectural stone producting activities such as building stone houses,producing and installing stone housing component is usually generalized as “stonework”.As the central city of Lingnan area,Guangzhou,since its establishment in the Qin Dynasty,has gradually formed a local stone application system which mainly based on waterproof,moisture-proof,fire-proof and insect-proof.During modern times,Guangzhou emerged a number of architectural explorations with time and regional characteristics.Influenced by the imported western style,by absorbing the improved modern technology,stonework developed with unique innovations.This paper through field visits,surveying and mapping,researching historical documents and related construction materials,this thesis discusses and combs Guangzhou modern architectural stonework by four themes from the cultural and technical point of view: the development background,the typical stone construction case,stone construction technology and stone decorative art.The first two themes discuss "product" by focusing on the application results presented by stone in different ideological influences and construction environment.The rest two themes aim to discuss "technique" by studying the relevant technical practices of stone construction.Through tracing the process of stonework development.It can be seen that in the renewal of modern architectural types and organizational patterns,stonework firstly reflects the technological progress of architecture and changes in architectural thought.Chapter 1 defines the research object,establishes the research framework,summarizes the relevant literature in the past,and provides background information for the research content below.Chapter 2 puts the stone construction activities into the corresponding historical and cultural environment to discuss,combing the regional tradition,the influence of the outer area and the modern transformation of three different stages of the environmental background of the development and change of modern construction stone in Guangzhou.Chapter 3 studies a number of typical architectural stone works in Guangzhou’s modern construction,and explores the differential expression of stone works under different construction conditions and thoughts.Chapter 4 studies the construction technology of stone construction such as the system of craftsmanship,the use of materials,mining and processing,introduces the transformation of the construction mode and technological progress realized by stone works on the basis of traditional practices since modern times.Chapter 5 introduces different stone surface treatment techniques,carving techniques and decorative themes,and analyzes and studies stone decorative art.
