From January 1,2016,China has begun to implement the “two-child policy”.This means that the “One-Child Policy” that has been implemented in China for 35 years is officially announced, and the “two-child age” has begun. The two-child family is an emerging family structure that has seen a rapid increase in the country 's current benefits. It is also a type of family structure that has the largest change in residential demand. The explosion of two-child families has been proactive and positive, from humanization to high comfort to the improvement of overall residential performance.Strong demand. In recent years, with the booming development of China's residential industry, the supply and demand relationship of small and medium-sized housing products has been relatively stable, which indicates that it will become the main force of commercial housing for a long period of time in the future. From the promulgation of the two-child policy to the formal implementation of the comprehensive two-child policy,on the one hand,it can improve social and economic levels by promoting consumption and increasing demographic dividends;on the other hand, for ordinary families, having two children means an increase in family members,Demand is rising, and there is a higher demand for living space.Buying a large apartment is the most direct and effective method, but for most families,The face of price pressure,it is difficult. Therefore, how adaptive design for small and medium size common house,to meet the different needs of various stages of growth of two children family, has become a research topic has a strong practical significance. This article first analyzes each element in the small and medium-sized apartment space, and analyzes the design points and design methods of each element. Then the growth process of the two-child family is divided into four stages: infants, school age,and adolescence. The study was conducted in the independent period, and the main points of the residential needs required for the design were obtained through field investigation and analysis. Finally, combined with the analysis of the various space elements of the small and medium-sized apartment type and the residential needs at different stages, the composite and flexible aspects of the The strategies and methods of adaptive design are summarized and verified in actual cases. Finally, the article is summarized and prospected.Small and medium-sized houses can resolve the contradiction between urban land and population,so that low-and middle-income people can also have a fixed residence.Although small and medium-sized houses are smaller than large ones, their use needs will not decrease accordingly.Designers should ensure the quality of people's living by rationally optimizing the design of the house, using space efficiently, and improving the openness, comfort, and adaptability of the house.
