Due to its economic and environmental advantages, natural gas has gradually become a widely used energy source, with unique potential as automotive fuel. The number of vehicles using compressed natural gas(CNG)as fuel is gradually increasing,so are the construction scale and number of gas filling stations. However, all engineering construction projects have risks,as well that natural gas is flammable and explosive. Therefore,it is of great important realistic significance to find out the potential risks in the process of gas station construction and formulate reasonable measures to deal with them. The X gas filling mother station is a construction project of a subsidiary invested by Petro China Kunlun Natural Gas Utilization Co.,Ltd.This newborn subsidiary's lack of experience in risk management result in an incomplete risk management system, weak risk awareness, and few competent staff. No adjusting may not only reduce project benefits but also result in more serious consequences. In this paper, the X gas station is taken as the research object.Based on the project life cycle management theory, and considering its objective basic conditions, this construction project is innovatively divided into early development stage, construction stage and operation stage. At different stages, the work-risk decomposition method(WBS-RBS method)is used to refine the work process and identify risks. Then experts team will score the occuring probability, influence severity and detecting difficulty of each risk. The product of the above indicators is the risk probability value of a certain risk event.Risk response measures are developed in a targeted and breakthrough manner according to the form of all the values.Realistic supervison skills are taken to make the controllence more effective. Finally, this paper systematically summarizes the empirical methods of risk management of such construction projects.
