With the rapid development of China’s power grid, a substantial increase in the number of devices, the rapid expansion of the scale of assets, the previous emphasis on device performance while ignoring asset value asset management approach has been difficult to adapt to the "intensive development, lean management "requirement. In the new situation, characterized by capital-intensive enterprises must accelerate the transformation of electricity asset management concepts, innovative management relations, good co-ordinate the relationship between grid asset security, efficacy and cycle cost among achieve system-wide assets, all costs, lean management of the whole process. Therefore, asset life cycle management of the company change management, enhance the management level of the inevitable choice.This paper intends to discuss the power transmission project life cycle asset management with the development requirements of China’s power industry, combined with the practical, to adapt to new forms of power transmission project under the scheme of modern electricity market to provide advice to choose from. Based on the sequence of the life cycle, the power transmission project were designed life cycle cost evaluation model and risk assessment model in planning and design stage, equipment procurement phase and the operation and maintenance phase, to identify the key factors that affect the life cycle cost, and through practical work cases illustrate how to use the life cycle cost evaluation model and risk assessment models to guide the actual work program selection decisions.After discussing how to achieve asset life cycle management in different stages, but there also need a powerful information management platform for asset life cycle management, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system is such an information management platform. This paper details the architecture of ERP system and the main functions of the system of five modules, and to work in an actual case illustrates how to achieve electricity asset life cycle management in the ERP system.
