From the view of global economy,automobile industry boasts a huge market and makes a considerable contribution to the economic development in the world.Though the industry still maintains a relatively rapid growth in some regions in Africa,Asia,and Latin America,as the market is maturating in Europe and America and the global market is maturating,the industry is stabilizing and entering a period of low profits.This point was approved by the bankruptcy restructuring of GM,Chrysler and other giant automakers during the financial crisis in 2008.Generally speaking,from market research,modeling and clay modeling to launch of new car on the market,it takes three to four years of time.After an automobile project is approved,detailed project nodes will be specified and no changes are allowed during execution.And any problem with any node may affect the time for the new car to go to the market and thus causes much loss.Regarding the difficulties with auto parts projects,this paper focuses on the analysis of the weakness of the project progress management in the past and uses critical chain project management(CCPM)to control the project progress,so as to improve project progress management and ensure the progress of auto parts R&D projects.R&D project of glove box locks for car A is studied in this paper.Critical chain project management is adopted in the progress plans of the R&D projects.Project critical chains are calculated and risk elasticity coefficients are used to identify buffers in the project progress.And through buffer management,we can follow up and control all project time.
