With the rapid growth of the automobile industry in China,the global major OEM's are paying increasingly attentions to the Chinese market and a large number of new product development projects are transferred to Chinese automotive component manufacturers.The complexity of projects is increasing because of the applications of more and more global platform projects and the new technologies which makes the projects have serious challenges of risk management.So scientific projects risk management is desperately needed in the new situation.Project risk management plays an extremely important role in the success of the projects and the success of the whole enterprise.Therefore,it is of great significance for G Company to develop a scientific,simple and practical risk management method in the combination with G company new production development process.In this thesis,the risk management process is introduced based on the G company new product development process which is consisted of five development phases(Planning and Quoting phase,Design and Development phase,Design Verification,Product Validation phase and Launch phase)and five phase gates(Project kickoff release gate,Production release gate,Customer part approval gate and Start of production gate).This thesis chooses UP375 Shifter project as the research object and implement risk identification through project work breakdown structure on each development phase and create the risk identification checklist for each phase accordingly.And then,the thesis introduces AHP method to conduct risk assessment on the identified management risks,project schedule risks,technology risks,financial risk and quality risks in phase 3 of UP375 project.Finally,the risk response actions are created based on the risk assessment results and the effects of the implementation are verified.Based on the researches of project risk management theories and the development process of new product project of G Company,this thesis creates a risk identification checklist for G company shifter project and studies of using the AHP method of risk assessment to automotive projects which can provide some references for the risk management of the future automotive projects.
