With the deepening of China's information construction,the number of information engineering is increasing,and the management of information engineering is put forward higher requirements.How to achieve the fine and omni-directional management,how to run through the whole life cycle of the information engineering management,is the problem that everybody in the industry has been discussing.Although many new technologies and means have emerged for the management of information engineering.Such as: some of the information engineering management software,but these software are often only stay in engineering information input,document management,the process of examination and approval,etc.Based on the level of information project management,to solve the practical problems of information engineering,such as: work smart metering,dynamic control time limit for a project,cost accounting,risk control and risk "time + cost + quality + contract file...".Multi-dimensional analysis,lack of intelligent means of analysis and data sharing platform,can not really provide information engineering managers and even enterprise management personnel with decision-making basis.However,in the management of construction industry,the 5D management model of engineering outputs(buildings)is established by applying BIM technology.This model adds two engineering management dimensions of progress management and cost management on the basis of 3D model of buildings,and realizes the visual integration and data sharing of engineering output and project management,so that management and production are no longer disjointed and opposite,but complementary and cooperative.The mature and developed BIM technology integrates management and production prospectively,and is helping enterprises and institutions at all levels in the construction industry gradually achieve excellent management.Then,can BIM technology be introduced into the management of information engineering with similar management requirements to the construction industry? Can we use the intelligent management means in BIM technology to realize the full cycle,whole process and all-round management of information engineering?Based on the comparison of information engineering and construction engineering in domestic and foreign technical background,main research results,industry characteristics and differences,this paper analyzes the necessity and feasibility of using BIM technology to manage information engineering from the aspects of similarity and management commonality between information engineering and construction engineering.The theoretical framework of using BIM technology to realize the whole life cycle management of information engineering is discussed.In this paper,BIM technology is applied to the process reengineering and improvement of major tasks in the initial stage,implementation period and operation and maintenance period of information engineering.Through the analysis of the economic benefits brought by the application of BIM technology to practical engineering(including direct benefits and indirect benefits),the conclusion is drawn that it is feasible to manage the whole life cycle of information engineering based on BIM technology,and it has more obvious advantages than the traditional management mode of information engineering.On the one hand,due to data sharing and product visualization,the time of communication among all parties involved in the project is shortened,and the construction efficiency of information engineering is improved.On the other hand,due to the more accurate budget of materials and engineering quantity,the problems and difficulties in design modification and construction are solved in advance,engineering changes are reduced,engineering risks are reduced,and investment and cost are saved.In a word,the whole life cycle management of information engineering based on BIM technology will provide new solutions for solving some common problems in information engineering management,optimizing the management process of information engineering,and improving the efficiency and service quality of information engineering management.
