With the accelerating pace of China’s urbanization, the construction industryhas been rapid development. The investment of construction project has been moreand more. The architectural form has been more complex. The constructiontechnology has been more and more difficult. Then the project management leveland efficiency should be constantly improved. Management theory, managementmethods and management forms should be innovated. Engineering technologymanagement is an important part of project management, engineering and the levelof technology management has an important impact on all aspects of constructionquality, cost control, schedule organization, management efficiency and so onthroughout the construction process. The use of network information technology isimportant to the form and efficiency of engineering technology management.Therefore the informatization of engineering technology management is aninevitable trend.This paper analysis the requirements of construction project engineeringtechnology management information system, which aims to lay the foundation forthe system development and build a multi-subject, multi-module and multi-stageengineering technology management information system. This paper discusses thepurpose and significance of the research engineering technology managementinformation system, analyzes the research current of domestic and international, andelaborates some basic concepts and theories such as engineering technologymanagement and management information system. So that construction projectmanagers fully recognize the significant impact of engineering technologymanagement for project quality, schedule and cost. And they can fully aware theimportance of engineering technology management information system. Onlyrealizing the importance of the development of engineering technology managementinformation system it can be improved and play the greatest benefit.This paper makes a detailed planning for engineering technology managementinformation system including design goals, design principles, system architecture and functional design. It respectively researches requirements of visual schedulemanagement, drawing examination management, design alteration management,construction organization design management, technical disclosure management,engineering test management and engineering survey management, analyzing eachmodule’s management content, management function and management processes tomake sure that engineering technology management information system can containvarious technology management work activities.Finally, it takes the engineering technology management information system ofone Yangtze River bridge for example to make a requirements analysis, confirmingthat the system requirements designed in this paper is feasible and it is in line withthe actual construction project engineering technology management demand.
