Information Technology Based Engineering Project Management

The primary goal of a construction cooperation is to reduce the cost and increase the profit. Without compromising the construction qulity, improve the construction technique and optimize the project management are the tool that the cooperation can use to achived this goal. For most construction project, the design and construction technique have been already fully developed. There is not a significant difference between techniques used among construction companies. Therfroe, one of the best options is to improve the efficiency of using avalaible resource, and moden project management techniques for construction to survive in the intence competition. Information technolodgy can improved the accuracy of project management in a timly maner. It also facilitates the management optimization, construction control and qulity control. Information technolodgy based project management is the future of project management technique.This study is based on the construction project of the Xi Xian Xin district airport city complex A. The PMBOK mamagement approach and information technolodgy were used to integrate the macro planning and details execution. The management strategy was determined and then a information and management platform was established using P6 sofware and POWERON software. The management was improved through contract management, schedule management, resource management, quality management, cost management, environmental management and risk management.
