| There are many temples in the West Lake mountain area of Hangzhou,and the Buddhism culture is endless.This area had the reputation of "Southeastern Buddhism Country".Now the splendid scene has ceased to exist,but the Buddhist cultural heritages all over the mountains have the extremely high historical significance,aesthetic connotation and religious value.A considerable part of these heritages today are not well protected and utilized.At present,most of the studies on the Buddhist landscape of Wcst Lake in Hangzhou focus on the existing Buddhist temples,while the theoretical research on the Buddhist cultural heritage in the Wcst Lake Mountain area needs to be further explored.Based on the historical background of Buddhism culture,this article teases out the relevant ancient books and atlases.This paper sorts out the development of Buddhism in the Wcst Lake Mountain area,and divides it into four important periods:initial emergence,prosperity,peak and decline,and then study the origin ot these sources.Based on the theoretical basis,the article links practice with field records.This paper conducts field surveys and visits,and collects a large amount of’ first-hand information by measures of photography,survey and interviews.In the end,there is a total of 13 Buddhist temples in the West Lake mountain area of Hangzhou,and there are 56 existing Buddhist cultural heritages.Combining ancient literatures and materials,the research results are sorted out,and the Buddhist cultural heritages in West Lake Mountain area are divided into eight categories:architecffires and courtyards,grottos with Buddha statues,cliff stone carvings,Buddhist pagodas,Buddhist relics,architectural sites,ancient and famous trees,and ancient pilgrimage roads.Starting from the spatial distribution of Buddhist cultural heritages in West Lake Mountain area,the distribution map 1s drawn,and the distribution characteristics are summarized.Heritages distribution influencing factors are traced from the three aspects of nature,religion and history.Based on the natural landscape resources in West Lake mountainous area,from the aspects of landscape environment,spatial structure,architectural layout and plant landscape,the research and analysis of the characteristics of Buddhist cultural heritage in West Lake Mountain area are carried out comprehensively and systematically.According to the results of field research,this paper summarizes the current situation of protection and utilization of the Buddhist cultural heritages,and summarizes existing problems and challenges.On this basis,specific protection methods and development strategies are proposed.Under the premise of following the basic principles of authenticity and integrity,protection and development combines the unique social attributes of Buddhist culture to restore its sense of place and vitality,so that the heritages can be used forever.At the same time of theoretical research,the practical discussion on the Yuhuang Hill and Phenix Hill areas where Buddhist cultural heritages are concentrated in West Lake Mountain area is carried out.Relying on the historical background and the profound humanistic connotation of Yuhuang Hill and Phenix Hill,this paper sorts out Buddhist cultural heritage resources and other landscape resources,and determines the planning area of Buddhist cultural tourism routes.Based on the regional characteristics and superior plannings of this mountainous area,the Buddhist cultural heritages protection and resources utilization model are proposed,which corresponding to the historical and cultural background of the Yuhuang Hill and Phenix Hill areas.This planning integrates the historical,landscape,religious and other resources in the region,and focuses on the cultural characteristics of the local Buddhism.Then it carries out overall positioning and meticulous planning,and proposes specific Buddhist cultural tourism routes.Studying on the core area and important heritage centres deeply,this paper makes a detail design. |
