In today’s rapidly developing China,holiday tourism has become a major way of leisure,with a trend to experiential and recreational mode rather than simply a hurried glance.To meet this demand and make appropriate changes in present tourist modes,compound tourist resorts are becoming tourists’ first choice,with their improved functions within the districts.This paper deals with Lingshan Town Nianhua Bay,a tourist resort of buddhist culture,with a summary of the factors in its planning and design and puts forward the principles and strategies for planning and design of similar cases.It begins with the conceptualization and categorization of the study range and object,and a summary based on comparison and analysis of the research status home and abroad.Then it goes further with an account of the history of the tourist resorts in different ages and in different places and a prediction of their tendency,followed by analysis and summary of the major problems in planning and design of present tourist resorts in China.And then by doing a thorough study of the background and status of the tourist resources,especially those of the buddhist culture in Wuxin,where the case bay is located,it reveals current problems and offers some suggestions for the future development.With a good foundation formed by the above study,the thesis analyzes the Nianhua Bay from its planning,the site features,the tourist development in the surrounding areas,and the ecological pattern,functional relationship,special culture of the place.Then it concludes its overall space layout and design which is taken as the focus of the project.It also points out some problems such as the incomplete planning system of the bay,lack of ecological protection,and presents feasible solutions.At present,in view of the incomplete planning system as to the planning of the tourist resorts of buddhist culture,the idea of Form Integrity is proposed as a solution.According to this idea,in the case of Nianhua Bay,new planning strategies are adopted for replanning and redesigning the project after analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of the bay.Finally,the planning principles and strategies of tourist resorts of buddhist culture are generalized based on this case study. |
