Suzhou, a soul and vibrant city, must have its unique cultural temperament and charm. Its formation depends on distinctive geographical environment and its development precipitates in the flowing of history, which constitutes the root of Suzhou city culture. As a famous cultural city with a long history, Suzhou has a very rich cultural relics of Buddhist architecture. These remains is the materialized form of Suzhou people’s creativity and the good idea of wisdom, which contains strong affinity and invisible cohesion that can’t be replaced.The following article is based on the literature consultation and field investigation of Suzhou Buddhist architecture and in connection with the geographical environment of Suzhou Temple layout. Starting with the development and evolution of Suzhou Temple,it has an overall summary analysis on the Buddhist architectural relics of Suzhou and focuses on the analysis of Xi yuan, Han shan, Shengen and some other typical Buddhist relics. With the help of detailed data, abortive induction and integrated summary, it draws a conclusion on the architectural space characteristics and rules of Suzhou Buddhist and traces out the regional characteristics of Buddhist architecture in Suzhou. It ends with a complete logical clue from the historical evolution analysis to the study on the site selection and the description of its cultural connotation.
