With the flourishing of tourism in the current society,tourists have a growing demand for tourist cultural and creative products.As popular scenic spots,religious places have gained more and more attention for the development and design of their cultural and creative products.Religious places have a profound history and splendid culture,and are known for their fantastic art forms of Buddhism,such as architecture,sculpture,decorative patterns and other forms of shaping.The cultural connotation and artistic elements behind can be exploited by designers constantly.Wutai Mountain in Shanxi is a famous and holy place of Buddhism in China,which has a profound history and a far-reaching influence.As one of the four Buddhist mountains in China,it is also a national forest park and geological park with a variety of tourist resources.The mutual integration between Buddhism and the natural environment has endowed Wutai Mountain with a unique and charming landscape,which can lay a solid foundation for research of this paper.This paper consists of five sections.Section 1 is the introduction part,which expounds on the research background,significance,methods,challenges and innovations of this research,carries out a thorough literature review,and discusses the status of relevant designs.Section 2 analyzes the tourist cultural and creative products of Wutai Mountain after field survey,and points out a series of problems with the spatial structure,categorical structure and brand image.Additionally,field survey is conducted on the creative and cultural products of other religious scenic spots in China to further study their status.Meanwhile,field survey and literature review are conducted to provide the positioning of consumers and brand image for tourist cultural and creative products of Wutai Mountain.Section 3 first expounds on the origin and development of Buddhist culture of Wutai Mountain,and then has artistic exploration of representative architectural shapes,Buddhist statues and decorative patterns,which can provide the source of inspiration and basis for the follow-up design.Section 4 presents and discusses the design process of the tourist creative and cultural product,Trip to Wutai Mountain from the perspective of design thinking,design style and design plan.Specifically,the design plan includes the logo design,graphic design,cultural symbol design and illustration design.The design thinking and process are elaborated.Section 5 demonstrates and describes the design outcomes by combining the content and the form.To sum up,this research deeply investigates the creative and cultural products of religious scenic spots in China,combining the regional environment and industrial culture of Wutai Mountain.In the design process of the tourist cultural and creative brand Trip to Wutai Mountain,the cultural connotation at the deep layer is exploited,and the special elements of art forms with scenic spots of Wutai Mountain are extracted,and combined with the modern art design styles to have both aesthetic value but also practicability.This can reflect the Buddhist cultural atmosphere of Wutai Mountain itself to not only attract consumers,but also promote the culture of Wutai Mountain.It is hope that this research can provide an effective design thinking and method for cultural and creative design of scenic spots of the same kind so that the traditional culture can be integrated into people's life in the form of cultural and creative products with new vigor.
