Research On Stele Pavilions In Mausoleums Of Qing Dynasty

The stele pavilion system gradually developed into a form in mausoleum in Ming Dynasty.The Qing Dynasty inherit the system and further reform and improve it,then created the set of Stele Pavilion system.There are 12 Shinto Stele Pavilions in Qing Dynasty,including 9 in emperor mausoleums and 3 in empress mausoleums.The Stele Pavilions have an irreplaceable role in improving the mausoleum system and enriching the space art of mausoleum buildings.At the same time,as important buildings in axis sequence,Stele Pavilions have clear time sequence.They reflect the construction technology evolution of Qing Dynasty pavilion.In this paper,I make Stele Pavilion system in mausoleum of Qing Dynasty as research object.Make in-depth investigation and record of physical information.Meanwhile,combin with relevant archives and books for comparison and verification to conducted a systematic study.Firstly,clarify the formation and development of the stele system in Ming and Qing Dynasty,and comb the establishment and role of the Stele Pavilion in mausoleum,the background and so on.Secondly,make systemic analysis and comparison in carpentry,masonry construction technology of these Stele Pavilions,which respectively from the aspects of construction,proportion and scale and carving etc.During the process,combin with relevant books,analyze its design method,construction practices and the design methods of the ancient craftsmen and the role which tombstone is playing.Through a large number of data comparison,analyse the evolution of the pavilion.I found that the Stele Pavilions are not only symbols of the transformation in mausoleum sequence,but also important nodes of ceremonial behavior and emotional transformation in sacrificing,and their role in mausoleum sequence is irreplaceable.There are many changes in each Stele Pavilion,for example,Tai-Ling and Chang-Ling have different practices in central bay and the second,and after Mu-Ling the building volume of the steles had been reduced,and so on.At last,combin with related engineering books,I deduced the construction process and draw it,try to make up for the blank of the construction and etiquette of Stele Pavilions.
