As a technology-intensive industry, the automobile industry has a strong demonstration and driving effect on the development of other manufacturing industries."Made in China 2025" clearly states that "we should fully promote the transformation of the traditional automobile industry and improve the level of intelligence".However, there is a certain gap between the technological level and the western developed countries in our automobile industry. In addition, the previously proposed "market exchange technology" strategy has failed to achieve the desired results. Therefore,it is a great significance to promote the technological progress of automobile industry in all aspects to realize the high level development of China's automobile industry and the optimization of the overall level of industrial structure. This paper takes China's automobile industry as the research object, according to "theoretical elaboration--the development status of China's automobile industry--theoretical analysis of FDI,human capital and technological progress of the automobile industry--empirical analysis of FDI,human capital and technological progress of China's automobile industry--technological optimization measures",and studies the impact of FDI and human capital on technological progress through the combination of theory and evidence. The thesis is divided into four parts:in the first part, the paper reviews the domestic and foreign literatures on FDI,technological progress of automobile industry, human capital and technological progress of automobile industry. The second part studies the current development status and existing problems of human capital and FDI in China's automobile industry, and establishes the research direction of this paper. The third part is the empirical analysis content: first, the relevant economic statistics index data collected from the China automobile industry yearbook and the national bureau of statistics are standardized.Secondly, based on the assumption that the automobile industry is a biased technology,a parametric method is adopted to set up the model and return to a certain conclusion; Then the second model is set up to prove the spillover effect of FDI on China's automobile industry; In addition,TFP was used to characterize the total factor productivity, and the TFP of the automobile industry was obtained by DEA method(data envelopment analysis method). Finally, the measurement model of the relationship between human capital,FDI and TFP is set up,which is to study the the deep research on the influence and influence mechanism of human capital and FDI on China's automobile industry technology. In the fourth part, based on the conclusion of the main research conclusions, this paper puts forward some pertinent policies and Suggestions based on the current situation of China's automobile industry. The main conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)It can be concluded by analyzing the current situation of China's automobile industry :production and sales of own-brand car companies can't pose a threat to the joint venture automakers, and has no competition to the joint venture car companies;China's automobile industry has increased the employment rate, but the proportion of engineers and technicians has been small, and the training of automobile talents is insufficient.FDI has recovered somewhat, but the distribution of FDI in coastal and heavy industries is not reasonable.(2)Through parameter method,it can be concluded that human capital can influence the technical progress of China's automobile industry, while FDI is excluded from parameter method, indicating that FDI may affect the technological progress of China's automobile industry through other channels.(3)In this paper,we use the total factor productivity of the automobile industry to represent the technological advances of the automotive industry, through the solution and decomposition of total factor productivity, the pure technical efficiency of China's automobile industry is greater than the scale efficiency.which means that our automobile industry resources have not been efficiently allocated in certain technological conditions; The total factor productivity of China's automobile industry is continuously improving, indicating that the technical level of China's automobile industry has been improving. The improvement of total factor productivity in China's automobile industry means the progress of China's automobile industry;technology;During the period 1995-2001,the whole factor productivity of the automobile industry remained hovering; After 2001,there was a rapid growth, which had a lot to do with China's entry into the WTO.However,But under the new normal of the economy, the total factor productivity of the automobile industry also fell.(4)It can be concluded from the regression results of FDI spillover effect model that FDI has significant spillover effect on China's automobile industry;and according to the regression results of the set model, human capital,FDI and their interaction terms are significantly positive, indicating that human capital can promote the technical progress of China's automobile industry through digestion and absorption;FDI can promote the technical progress of China's automobile industry through technology spillover. The increase of human capital can enhance the capacity of digestion and absorption, which benefits the technology spillover of FDI,FDI increase can also attract more human capital, enhance the capacity of absorption, and promote the technological progress of auto industry in our country.
