Outdoor activity is an important part of pre-school education.Well-designed outdoor activity space,which is inevitable for qualified preschool education,plays a significant role in pre-school children's development.However,compared with interior design,outdoor activity space design in kindergartens is always neglected,leaving much to be improved.This essay aims to design better activity space for children in kindergartens on the basis of 7c theory.Main content of this essay includes:1.a general introduction to research background and its significance as well as a research methodology based on the literature review both at home and abroad.2.a comprehensive analysis of theories concerning rules and objectives of outdoor space design for kindergartens.3.a generalunderstanding of current situations as regard to outdoor space design in kindergartens after visiting four urban kindergartens both at home and abroad.4.a conclusion that current cognition and strategies can't meet the needs of children's physical and psychological development.Author of this essay suggest employing 7c theory to seek for design strategy and put it into practice in design project of Hangzhou Xiang Fu Kindergarten.As for the specific design scheme,author of this essay insist that outdoor activities of children in kindergartens should be organized according to different age groups and space be divided into different areas.Besides materials should be environmental friendly.
