A Case Study On The Standards Of Kindergarten Outdoor Playground Construction

Outdoor playground construction is the "top priority" of kindergarten infrastructure construction.The educational value of outdoor playground in kindergartens has become increasingly prominent,but the construction of outdoor playground is facing many problems.The most critical issue is the standard of outdoor playground construction,because the standards of the outdoor playground construction play the guiding role in the establishment of educational environment in Kindergarten.However,the standards of the outdoor playground construction in Kindergarten are various among different countries.As the outdoor playground construction in the county kindergarten is unique,this study chooses an outdoor playground,a typical county kindergarten(referred to as A kindergarten)as a case,with the"Handbook for public playground safety" of United States(referred to as"the handbook")and "Code for design of nursery and kindergarten buildings(2016)"(Referred to as "the code”)of China as the evaluation tool,the paper uses the observation method,the interview method and the literature method to systematically evaluate the outdoor playground construction and the present situation of the kindergarten,so as to provide some useful inspiration for the outdoor playground construction and the continuous improvement of the standard.The results of the study found that the results of the evaluation based on the "handbook" tool were partially compliant with the criteria in termsof base and flat layout,and the results based on the "code" were in full compliance with the criteria;in the case of equipment and facilities,the results of the evaluation based on the "handbook" were mostly non-conforming or partially compliant with the criteria,and the results based on the "code" are mostly consistent with the criteria.Obviously,the evaluation criteria of foreign and domestic outdoor playgrounds vary greatly,mainly reflected in the evaluation of the degree of refinement,safety concerns and evaluation of ideas.Comprehensive analysis shows that the kindergarten outdoor playground standards of value orientation,we should be the number,quality and quality of both;safety,fun,natural and economic simultaneously;aesthetics and educational unity.In the kindergarten outdoor playground construction standards,we should absorb foreign advanced experience to promote the standardization and normalization of kindergarten outdoor playground construction;respect for regional differences,appropriate to maintain elastic space of the kindergarten outdoor playground construction standards;focus on outdoor playground construction effectiveness,take both oriented functions and service functions of the standard into account.
