The contradiction between the man-land relationship has led to the high-density development of cities in china,while the exploration of the underground space in the high-density urban districts is an effective solution.Due to the limitation of the land use for education,the exploration of underground space is necessary for primary and secondary schools as well,although there are particular problems caused by the particularity of the user.Based on this,this paper takes the underground space of primary and secondary schools in Wuhan as the research object,and conduct the literature reading,field investigation,analysis and synthesis.Through the reflection of the current problems and references to the prior experience,this study aims to dig and summarize the design strategies of underground space that meet the use of primary and secondary schools in high-density urban districts.The following three aspects of the underground space of primary and secondary schools in high-density urban districts are studied:Firstly,with the research on relevant laws and regulations and fieldwork on high-density urban districts in Wuhan,the author analyzes the use status and summarizes the problems about underground space of primary and secondary schools;Secondly,according to the current problems about the underground space of primary and secondary schools in Wuhan,the paper analyzes restrictions on the underground Space from different perspectives,extracting four elements that affect the use of underground space: functional type,space arrangement,indoor and outdoor surroundings and the use of security.Drawing lesson from the cases of underground space exploration that based on these elements in the primary and secondary schools,this paper demonstrates the feasibility of underground space utilization,and sums up processing methods on the four elements by combining with valuable design techniques;Thirdly,based on the above research,the design strategies of underground space in primary and secondary schools are proposed.In summary,this study could bring out a supplemental model for the construction of underground space in primary and secondary schools around high-density urban districts,and provide designers who may participate in the design of underground space in the future with some reference.
