Campus Planning And Design Of Elementary And Secondary School In Urban High Density

As education progresses in modern China, the concept of humanistic and overalldevelopment of students has drawn increasing attention from the public. Carrying outa series of educational revolutions, the national government has strongly prompted theeducation for all-round development which is significantly helpful for the growthstudents in middle and primary schools. Meanwhile, this also implies higherrequirements for design and planning for the campus of middle and primary schools.With urban cities develop rapidly, the constructions of middle and primary schoolshave entered into a new stage while also facing great challenges at the same timeconsidering the high density of urban environment: insufficiency of construction area,increasing number of students of the right age to go to school, complexity of the urbanenvironment around the campus, etc. which all strictly limit the development ofmiddle and primary schools. Therefore, how to organize the function and spacesefficiently and reasonably to both meet the need of quality education nowadays andthe future development of the city, is the requirement and challenge to the designers.Firstly, based on the study of the development of middle and primary schooleducation and the history of the development of middle and primary school campus inand out of China，through analyzing the current situation of Chinese middle andprimary school constructions, this paper points out the problems in the developmentof Chinese middle and primary schools. Secondly, considering the challenges of thehigh density in urban city, it put forward some adaptive strategies and principles to thedevelopment of the campus of overall urban planning, at the same time, it brings upsome suitable principles and methods in both levels of campus planning andarchitecture design, aiming to relieve the stress brought by urban development, andcreate a healthy campus environment for students.In the end, analysis the development status of primary and secondary schools inthe city at this stage,and summary the related factors to restrict its development,andoutlook on its future development.At last combining with the project of ZhenhuaMiddle School in Jiaozhou city, this paper further discusses the design principles andmethods suitable for the high density of urban city.
