| The development of information technology has expanded the way of information storage and reading.Readers can get information resources anytime and anywhere without borrowing the documents from the library. At the same time, the concept of higher education focusing on academic exchange promotes the transformation of learning mode from accepting style and individual style to autonomous, research and collaborative mode. This makes the function, space and service orientation of traditional university libraries no longer satisfy the contemporary learning mode. This paper is based on the background of the times, takes environmental behavior theory as the breakthrough point, and explores the learning space design strategy which is in line with the readers’ behavior and psychological needs,in order to have certain reference value to the design of the university libraries in the future..In this way,the university libraries become a multiple learning center to attract more readers to learn and study. In this paper, the writer makes a field survey on the behavior patterns and psychological needs of readers in the learning space of university libraries through the research methods of behavior map, questionnaire survey and interview, and analyzes the relationship between the reader’s behavior and the learning space, and clears the main contents of learning space design:1.solving the relationship between reading, borrowing and hiding,2.grasping the relationship between reading space, leisure space and communication space,3.coordinating the relationship between openness and privacy,4.taking into account the relationship of both material and spiritual space.Based on the main contents of learning space design, the writer puts forward four design principles, those are reader centered, coexistence of wholeness and pluralism, embodying digitalization and intelligentization, and paying attention to the humanistic spirit of universities. Then studies the learning space design from the four aspects of spatial organization, space alternation, spatial integration and environment creation, and finally extracts the design strategy of learning space for university libraries to adapt to the background of the present times:1.Spatial organization: combined with the reader’s learning mode, libraries use the combination patterns of Preservation Separated from Usage and Preservation Integrated with Usage.2.Space alternation: the general reading space, leisure reading space and communication space are arranged in the same space or on the same floor,to provide the readers with one station type of complex learning mode, which can promote the exchange behavior between readers and fully reflect the educational idea of the university.3.Spatial integration: in the complex learning space, while meeting the readers’ various ways of behavior,it is necessary to use the architectural interface and furniture furnishings to make appropriate separation in order to satisfy the sense of domain, privacy and security of the reader’s personal space.4.Environmental creation: creating learning environment that makes readers feel comfortable through architectural vocabulary, such as light, material, scale and media,so that readers can have a sense of recognition, domain and belonging to the space environment, and the space convey strong campus culture and regional culture. In addition, the application process of the relevant strategies in the practice project of the Chongqing Three Gorges University library is reproduced to verify and improve the learning design strategy of the university libraries. |
