Research On Readers’ Space Design In University Library From The Perspective Of Information Exchange

With the development of China’s social economy and the progress of information age technology,the construction speed of university campus is gradually accelerated,and the construction demand of university library is rising.The change of teaching mode emphasizes practicality and cooperation of teaching links,the development of information technology emphasizes application of new media in the teaching process,which poses new challenges to the architectural design of university libraries.On the one hand,influenced by the application of media technology in libraries,management mode in the information age pays more attention to the service efficiency and service quality than traditional libraries,which poses challenges to service content and system of university libraries.On the other hand,the change of the way readers learn also has an impact on the architectural function composition and spatial layout,which poses a new challenge to the new function configuration and spatial organization form of the university library.The aim of this paper is based on the present construct situation of university library under the information age,in order to achieve the new campus of university library service function and historical mission,with communication theory,environmental behavior theory,constructivism learning theory as the breakthrough point,explore meets the need of current university library space construction practical and feasible design method.Based on the general method of library space design and the field investigation of university libraries in southwest China,this paper analyzes the basic characteristics and form changes of the reader space of university libraries in the information age.The paper clarifies the core design content and puts forward the design goal of reader space in university library by combining the theory of information exchange and the theory of environmental behavior: to realize the process of information exchange between people and book resources.As one of many architectural types,the university library should not only extract the essence from the general architectural space design methods,but also take into account the library’s own functions and responsibilities and the positioning of The Times.The design principle of reader space in university library based on information technology should be discussed and studied from three aspects of library management mode,reader behavior composition and information exchange mode,and the design strategy system of reader space should be summarized and extracted.On this basis,with the help of practical projects to apply the relevant design strategies,so as to verify and improve the college library reader space design strategy and design methods.
