The automotive industry can promote the development of upstream and downstream industries,providing a large number of employment opportunities,which is the important growth point of national economic development.Among them,the independent brand automobile industry development to a certain extent,can affect the country’s economic development level.But less independent brand automobile enterprise development in our country,the low-end products,profits are weak,and don’t have the core production technology,leading the slow process of growth.In this context,we study the efficiency of own brand operating conditions,and from the efficiency to take countermeasures has an important role.This paper first analyzes the development of China’s automobile industry and the status quo of China’s own-brand automobile Enterprises,and points out the importance of independent-brand cars in China’s auto industry and the necessity of its development.Secondly,this paper introduces the basic theory of enterprise performance: property rights theory,principal-agent theory and stakeholder theory,which leads to the independent brand automobile enterprise performance evaluation research.Then all the empirical method to be used for this article are discussed in detail,namely the method of data envelopment analysis(DEA),and lay a foundation for the back of the empirical analysis.On the basis of the theoretical research above,this paper takes the data of representative of the independent brand cars and joint venture enterprises from 2010 to 2015 as sample,choose the appropriate input and output variables,then this paper applied Meta-frontier DEA models to calculate the efficiency and rank of the auto enterprises.The empirical results show that:(1)The overall efficiency of China’s auto industry has declined,and the market efficiency of independent auto brands in China has experienced a decline,followed by a rise and then a decline,indicating that auto brands in China are more dependent on the international market.;(2)The market efficiency of China-owned brand’s cars is much lower than that of joint venture auto companies;(3)The new energy vehicles on the rise in China,it’s future market development potential is big;(4)The efficiency loss of China’s automobile enterprises comes from the loss of efficiency of their own business management.Finally,based on the empirical conclusions and the analysis of the previous status quo,we put forward some relevant policy suggestions for improving the market performance of China’s own-brand auto enterprises.
