At present, the research on Tibetan architecture is increasing and some research achievements have been made. However, most of their research objects are architectural culture and architectural decoration art, while the research from the perspective of architectural climate adaptability is relatively less.As Tibet is located in the Qinghai Tibet Plateau, its ecological environment is fragile. The landform is complex. The climate is diverse. If the urban construction of Tibet overexploits the natural resources,it will cause irreversible damage to the local ecological environment. Therefore, how to combine the natural and climatic environment of the valley plain area of Lhasa city to create a new residential building suitable for the local environment is worthy of our study. The main research scope of the thesis is "valley plain area of Lhasa City",which refers to the valley plain area in the middle and lower reaches of Lhasa River.Generally,it includes Mozhugongka county,Linzhou county,Duilong Deqing district, and Qushui county. The thesis starts with the current situation of the residential buildings in the valley plain area of Lhasa city.Through literature reading, field survey and mapping, thermal environment testing, data comparative analysis and computer simulation analysis, the thesis summarizes the climate adaptability characteristics of local traditional residential buildings, and puts forward the climate adaptability design strategy and optimization design scheme suitable for local new residential buildings.Firstly, through the collection and collation of literature and books, the thesis expounds the natural environment of the valley plain of Lhasa city. Then, from the four aspects of building plane, building facade, building section and building materials, the thesis expounds the characteristics of local houses.Secondly,by means of on-the-spot interview, investigation and test, the climate adaptability of local traditional residential buildings is analyzed from five aspects: building orientation, building shape, plane layout, building space and building materials. At the same time, the thesis summarizes the experience of climate adaptive design, which can be used as a reference for the climate design of local new residential buildings. Finally, the climate adaptive design strategy of new residential buildings in the valley plain area of Lhasa city is obtained with the help of climate consultant.Combined with the theory of building climatology and the experience of traditional residential construction, the thesis puts forward the optimization design of local new residential buildings from two aspects of site design and single design.Climate adaptation design strategies for residential buildings in the valley plain of Lhasa include:(1)The thermal comfort period in Lhasa is mainly in summer;(2)From February to November, the indoor thermal environment can be significantly improved by using passive solar energy to directly obtain heat and increase heat storage materials in the local area.In December and January the improvement of indoor thermal environment mainly depends on active heating and humidification;(3)From April to October, the indoor thermal environment can be effectively improved through the internal heat gain of the building in the local area. The internal heat gain methods include cooking, lighting and human body heat dissipation,etc;(4)Based on the consideration of climate conditions throughout the year, the climate adaptive design strategy of local buildings should be based on active heating, supplemented by passive solar heating.Studying the climate adaptability of residential buildings in the valley plain of Lhasa can not only create a healthy and comfortable indoor environment, but also inherit and develop the construction technology and experience of traditional residential buildings.Reduce the consumption of natural resources.Meet the standard of green building. Finally, the goal of sustainable development of Tibetan architecture will be realized.
