| Technological progress is an important factor that affecting the rapid development of China's logistics industry.Different scholars have carried out some research on the relationship between technological progress and employment in the whole country and in different provinces.However,there are few studies on the impact of technological progress on employment structure in specific industries,and even fewer studies on logistics industry.Therefore,in this context,this paper selects 49 listed companies in China's logistics industry as the research object,and based on their panel data from 2009 to 2017,makes an empirical analysis of the relationship between technological progress and employment structure in China's logistics industry.Firstly,this paper reviews and summarizes the relevant research and theory at home and abroad.On this basis,the present situation of technological progress and employment structure in China's logistics industry is analyzed from various perspectives by using the relevant statistical data of technological progress and employment structure.The results show that the improvement of technological progress level has brought great promotion to the development of China's logistics industry,and has produced a more obvious creation effect on employment,which makes the total employment at a faster speed.However,there are still some serious problems restricting the development and progress of the logistics industry in China in terms of employment structure,including the low comprehensive quality of personnel,the older age,the less proportion of highly educated personnel,and so on.Therefore,it is of great practical and theoretical significance for the long-term development of logistics industry to analyze the impact of technological progress and employment structure,explore the underlying reasons behind the current situation and find out the best matching relationship between technological progress and employment structure.Secondly,the DEA-Malmquist index method is used to measure the technological progress index of China's logistics industry and replace it with technological progress.Then the total factor productivity and its decomposition are analyzed from the perspective of subdividing industries and enterprises respectively.The results show that the improvement of technological progress level of China's air transport industry and road transport industry will effectively promote the development of the industry and increase the relative demand of high-skilled labor force.However,the water transport industry has the characteristics of labor-intensive industry,and the level of technological progress is weak,which has no significant impact on the demand for highly skilled personnel.In the empirical analysis part,this paper first constructs an econometric regression model based on biased technological progress theory in general,and then carries out unit root and cointegration tests.The results show that the variables are first-order monolithic and there is no pseudo-regression.Based on this,Hausman test should be used to determine the model of fixed-effect regression analysis.The results show that technological progress in logistics industry has a significant positive role in promoting the demand for high-skilled personnel;the expansion of enterprise scale will increase the demand for high-skilled labor force,the promotion of employee wage level is conducive to the development of enterprises and increase the attractiveness level of highly educated personnel.Then,considering that the core variable of technological progress may have endogenous problems,we find that it is not affected by the endogenous problems caused by the correlation between current explanatory variables and current residuals by regressing the method of lagging one period of independent variables.Finally,this paper makes a regression analysis of the air transport industry,road transport industry and water transport industry respectively from the perspective of subdividing industries. |
