As a productive service industry, the logistics industry has close links with other industries in the economic system.Increasing its industrial efficiency can produce greater positive externalities for other industries. At present, the proportion of China's logistics costs to GDP is still close to 7% of that of developed countries.Improving the efficiency of logistics industry development has a huge impact on China's real economy's cost reduction and efficiency.Total factor productivity is an important indicator to measure the quality of logistics industry development, reflecting the overall system efficiency of the logistics industry.Studying China's logistics industry from the perspective of total factor productivity is of great significance for exploring the development law of China's logistics industry and improving the development quality of the logistics industry. This paper firstly sorts out the literature, theory and measurement methods related to total factor productivity of logistics industry, systematically analyzes the status, trends and problems of China's current logistics industry development;secondly, selects the added value of logistics industry as the expected output index, and the carbon emission of logistics industry as non-Expected output indicators, the number of employees in the logistics industry, capital stock and energy consumption as input indicators.Based on the panel data of 30 provinces in China from 2003 to 2016,the DEA-Malmquist index model is used to measure the total factor productivity of China's logistics industry. At the same time,The total factor productivity of the logistics industry in the eight economic regions will be Summarized and compared. Finally,in order to further deepen the factors affecting the total factor productivity of the logistics industry, this paper selects the seven influencing factors, including industrial structure, level of economic development, human capital, transportation infrastructure, degree of government intervention, degree of openness, and degree of marketization, using panel data regression to analyze the total factor productivity of China's logistics industry. The following conclusions are drawn through empirical research:(1)The total factor productivity of China's logistics industry is currently declining, and scale efficiency is themain factor affecting total factor productivity.Technological progress is the key factor driving the growth of total factor productivity.(2)China's eastern coastal comprehensive economic zone has the best development efficiency of logistics industry, and its total factor productivity is mainly driven by technology;followed by the Greater Southwest Comprehensive Economic Zone, its total factor productivity is driven by technology and scale; The worst is the Northeast Comprehensive Economic Zone. Its development model is at the end of capital-driven,and the capital utilization efficiency is poor.(3)Changes in industrial structure, changes in the level of economic development, average educational level, and changes in government intervention have a significant positive impact on the total factor productivity of China's logistics industry; The degree of dependence has a negative impact on the total factor productivity of China's logistics industry because of increasing the Degree of external dependence;the impact of transportation infrastructure and marketization on the total factor productivity of China's logistics industry is not significant.
