For a long time,all sectors of China's economy,including the construction industry,have maintained rapid growth and achieved remarkable achievements.However,the high growth rate does not represent high efficiency,and the high growth rate may be provided by a substantial increase in investment,by sacrificing the environment,consuming a lot of renewable and non renewable resources,and a large number of cheap labor force.This growth mode is obviously not sustainable,and the way of economic growth must be changed to the improvement of the efficiency of resource utilization.Different from the single factor productivity that usually said,TFP will take all input and output factors into consideration where in the economic system,it can reflect the change of the system of investment,the comprehensive efficiency of output,on behalf of the optimization technology,personnel quality,management level and economic scale of output growth the contribution is the measure of sustainable economic growth is an important index.As one of the pillar industries of our national economy,the healthy,stable and efficient development of construction industry has strong economic and social benefits.Therefore,this paper evaluates the total factor productivity of China's construction industry.This paper first identifies the subsystem of the construction industry,and divides the evaluation process of the TFP of the construction industry into building subsystem and economic transformation subsystem.Then,the network DEA and the Malmquist index model are combined to create a network DEA-Malmquist index evaluation model of the two phase ideal frontier.Based on the corresponding evaluation model,the total factor productivity of each subsystem and the whole system is evaluated respectively.According to the results of the evaluation,the factors affecting the total factor productivity of the construction industry are analyzed.Finally,according to the results of the total factor productivity evaluation and the analysis results of the influencing factors,the improvement strategies are put forward respectively.The results showed that the evaluation period,the total factor productivity of China's construction industry average growth rate of 3.1%,achieved a rapid growth,that China's construction industry mainly depends on the previous extensive increase investment driven growth model has been well improved,the increase of TFP is also an important part of the construction industry the development of the construction industry;TFP growth is mainly contributed by the technological progress,but the change trend,overall decreasing trend index of technological progress and technical efficiency change index showed an overall upward trend.The average growth of TFP in the eastern,central and western regions is 5.4%,1.1%and 2.9%respectively.The growth of TFP in the eastern developed areas is still the fastest,while the western and central regions do not show significant catching up effect.the growth of the total factor productivity of the construction subsystem is low,and the improvement of the construction subsystem should be emphasized.As for Influence factors of total factor productivity in the construction industry,There are four factor which are changes rate in the economic development level of the national,construction industry market degree change rate,technical equipment of construction enterprises change rate and the construction industry R&D investment change rate have significant positive correlation to total factor productivity in construction industry.
