Qingyunshan Provincial Nature Reserve is situated in southeast of Wengyuan County,Guangdong Province,China. The plant diversity composition and characterisitics, the typical community species diversity, rare and endangered wild plants for conservation, and wild plants resources in Qingyunshan Provincial Nature Reserve were studied on the base of field investigation, literatures checked and specimens collected. Results showed that:1.There were 1336 vascular plant species, including species, subspecies, varieties and forms,of which there were 132 taxa of lycophytes and ferns belonging to 62 genera and 24 families, and 6 taxa of gymnosperms belonging to 4 genera and 4 families, and 1198 taxa of angiosperms belonging to 588 genera and 148 families.2.The dominant and typical families of lycophytes and ferns are Pteridaceae,Thelypteridaceae,Polypodiaceae and Dryopteridaceae. The gymnosperms flora takes up a very low proportion in total flora, which mainly contains Pinaceae,Taxodiaceae and Gnetaceae. The dominant and typical families of angiosperms are Lauraceae,Fagaceae,Aquifoliaceae,Symplocaceae,Theaceae and Sabiaceae et al.3.The floristic analyses of families and genera show that the geographical element was complex;the tropical and subtropical elements took a large proportion. There are no strict tropical families and genera in the flora, and some of the tropical components can extend to temperate regions. The flora of Qingyunshan Provincial Nature Reserve basically consisted of tropical to subtropical elements with transitional characteristics.Base on the studies of the family flora and the genera flora, the species flora of Qingyunshan Provincial Nature Reserve is analiysed in this paper. The floristic analyses of speceis show that the tropical Asian elements took a large proportion. In the specific rank, the flora is ancient and shows the feature of south China flora.4.Compared with its neighboring regions on flora,in Qingyunshan Provincial Nature Reserve, the flora is most closely related to the flora of Nankunshan, while a weaker relationship to Baxiangshan and Huaping. The flora of Jianfengling is very different to that of Qingyunshan Provincial Nature Reserve.5.The vegetation types in Qingyunshan Provincial Nature Reserve are luxuriant.Subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest is the most common and typical vegetation type in this region. There are the typical and representative forest communities at different stages of succession. It is an excellent place to study the succession of forest communities.6.There are 59 species of rare and endangered plants in Qingyunshan Provincial Nature Reserve,of which 4 species belong to grade one of national protected plants and 44 species the grade two.7.There are abundant wild plants resources in Qingyunshan Provincial Nature Reserve, which are divided into ornamental plant resources, medicinal plant resources, edible plant resources and so on.
