The Integration Of Third-Party Logistics Companies

Along with the slowdown of the global economic development over the past two years,all kinds of enterprises from different industries have the willing to seek for new models for their long-term development.It is well known that the logistics industry and manufacturing are closely tied and related to each other,the logistics companies are definitely influenced by the economic environment.In the current economic environment,multinational enterprises want to optimize the cost of their industrial production,and most of them began this plan from the regional integration.And normally the supply chain integration is the first step.In addition,in China,the development of the third-party logistics industry has its certain characters that they are often small-scale,with a big amount number of the 3PL companies.In order to make full use of scarce logistics resources,corporates chose mergers and acquisitions and set up some strategic alliance.In order to study how the third-party logistics companies manages to do the integration of the supply chain in the current market environment,and how they provide customers with more optimized solutions to enhance their own core competitiveness,this article has done some researches on the current theory of the third-party logistics,supply chain management and supply chain integration.It also summed up some modes of how the third party logistics companies integrate the supply chain.The article made a primary analysis that the integration could be carried out by the operation integration,the establishment of strategic alliances and the upgrade of the information system.This article also took S company as an example,it analyzed the market environment of logistics industry;and confirmed the necessity of implementing the strategy of supply chain integration.This article described that to make good preparation of the supply chain integration,S company have adjusted the organizational structure,integrated the customers and suppliers on the management basis,and then analyzed the current situation and deficiency in the main business segments of the company,namely,freight forwarding,warehousing,transportation and multimodal transportation.The article thought that in the next few years the company should also pay attention to a higher level of supply chain integration,such as the development of logistics services and the fourth party logistics information system.Hope that the conclusions of the third party logistics industry will give some useful references and suggestions to other third-party companies.
