Statistical Model For The Relationship Among Partnership,Logistics Capability And Supply Chain Integration In Manufacturing Industry

In recent years,as a result of the globalization of market competition,the diversification of consumer demand,and advances in information technology,the competitions between enterprise and enterprise have been gradually transformed into those between supply chain and supply chain.Therefore,enhancing supply chain management has become an important strategy to gain competitive advantage,and promoting the information and process integration among its members in a supply chain is the key to successful supply chain management.Although supply chain integration has received more and more attention from practitioners,empirical studies on which factors affect supply chain integration,and how they affect supply chain integration remain unexplored.Based on the above,from the perspective of supply chain management,based on the theoretical basis of transaction cost theory,social exchange theory and resource basic theory,a conceptual model for the relationship among partnership,logistics capability,and supply chain integration is proposed.On the basis of theoretical analysis,it proposes correlation assumptions.It includes the assumption of partnership on supply chain integration;the assumption of logistics capability on supply chain integration;the assumption of partnership on logistics capability;the assumption of moderating effects of industry attribute and firm size.218 valid questionnaires are collected by two ways of investigation.Integrated use of confirmatory factor analysis(CFA),non-response bias and common method deviation test,exploratory factor analysis(EFA)and structural equation modeling(SEM),it analyzes the survey data and does the processing,and verifies the assumption proposed one by one.At last,it obtains the following conclusions:(1)Supply chain partnership has a positive influence on both logistics basic capability and logistics information capability;Meanwhile,supply chain partnership has a much greater impact on logistics information capability than logistics basic capability;(2)Supply chain partnership has a positive influence on all the three dimensions of SCI;Meanwhile,supply chain partnership has a much greater impact on customer and supplier integrations than internal integration;(3)Logistics capability has a significant positive impact on all the three dimensions of supply chain integration;(4)Logistics capability plays a part-intermediate role between partnership and supply chain integration;Furthermore,through the logistics capability,the indirect influence on supply chain integration caused by partnership is much greater than the direct influence on that.(5)We also tested the model across different firm sizes and industries,the result show that the effect of partnership and logistics capability on supply chain integration for firms of different sizes and industries are difference.From the perspective of supply chain management,a conceptual model for the relationship between logistics service capability and supply chain integration is proposed.Based on the structural equation model and the data collected from 218 manufacturing enterprises,this study proposes and empirically tests the relationship between logistics service capability and supply chain integration.The results show that:(1)internal integration has a positive influence on both customer and supplier integrations;(2)logistics service capability has a positive influence on SCI;Meanwhile,logistics augmented capability has a much greater impact on internal integration and customer integration than logistics basic capability;(3)We also tested the model across different firm sizes,the result show that the effect of logistics service capability on supply chain integration for firms of different sizes are difference.Compared with the previous research,the innovation points of this study are mainly reflected in the following aspects:(1)This study explores the prerequisite factors of supply chain integration,use the logistics capacity as a mediator variable between partnership and supply chain integration to construct the predecessor model of supply chain integration,which enriches the theoretical research of enterprise cooperation.This paper analyzes how to promote supply chain integration from the perspective of partnership and logistics capability,clearly puts forward the important influence of partnership and logistics capability on supply chain integration,and enriches the research results of supply chain integration.Through interviews and questionnaires,this paper demonstrates the role of partnership and logistics capabilities in the supply chain integration,which enrich the empirical research in supply chain integration area.(2)The conceptual model of partnership,logistics capability,and supply chain integration is put forward and test by the theories from multi-areas.The relationships among related variables are clarified.Through the integration method,this study also promotes the development of the theory.The conceptual model of partnership,logistics capability,and supply chain integration is put forward and test by the transaction cost theory,resource basic theory and social exchange theory from multi-areas.The relationships among related variables are clarified.The connotations and applications scopes of these theories are elaborated.An integration research thought is provided to the scholars for conducting further studies in the supply chain management.(3)When investigating the impact of partnership and logistics capability on supply chain integration,this paper explored the moderating effects of industry attribute and firm size.It expands and enriches the empirical research in this area.On the study of the relationship between partnership and supply chain integration,scholars have come to the inconsistent conclusion.This is because it may be affected by many situational factors that may include the industry,the size of the firm,and so on.At present,some scholars have begun to pay attention to the impact of these situational factors,but the relevant empirical research is still very limit.When investigating the impact of partnership and logistics capability on supply chain integration,this paper explored the moderating effects of industry attribute and firm size.It expands and enriches the empirical research in supply chain management area.(4)From the perspective of supply chain management,a conceptual model for the relationship between logistics service capability and supply chain integration is proposed.Based on the structural equation model and the data collected from 218 manufacturing enterprises,this study proposes and empirically tests the relationship between logistics service capability and supply chain integration.Although some scholars believe that logistics service capability will have an impact on supply chain integration,their research is mainly based on mathematical models and preliminary theoretical research,and relevant empirical research has not been found.Moreover,the literatures on logistics service capacity and supply chain integration are mostly based on the cultural background of developed countries in Europe and America.The research based on Chinese cultural background is still relatively rare and still insufficient.The background of the Chinese high-speed economic growth and transition economy will affect Chinese management philosophy and management model.Therefore,Western logistics service capability and supply chain integration theory need to be further tested in China to enhance people's understanding of these theories.
