At the beginning of 2016,"No 1 Central Document" stressed that "to strengthen the agricultural transgene technology research,development and supervision,to carefully promote it after ensuring the safety".It was also the first time that a "timetable" is set for the industrialization of transgene technology during the 13th Five-Year Plan period.Transgene technology has gotten great development and application since its emergence in the late 1960s.Meanwhile,the controversy never stop.People worries about the safety of GM foods,as well as the influence to the environment.As the main access to information,the news media plays a vital role in the construction and dissemination of transgene technology issues,influencing public's awareness of transgene technology imperceptibly as well.Network has become an important carrier of information dissemination in the Internet age.New opportunities and challenges are brought to the dissemination of transgene technology issues with the emergence of new media and We-Media.What kind of transgenic image does the media build?What are the differences between new media and We-Media during the dissemination of transgene technology?Is there any difficulties?These are the urgent issues to explore.By adopting the research methods of content analysis and comparative study,this paper chooses Sina and Guokr as two research objects to analyze the status of transgenic reports during the 2014-2016 period of Sina and Guokr from seven aspects-the number of reports,the source of the news,the report genre and the content of the reports and so on.Meanwhile,the paper explores the differences on dissemination of transgenic issues between Sina and Guokr,trying to interpret the causes of this differences from three aspects-media nature,media orientation and news communicator.Finally,the paper put forward some strategies aiming at the difficulties that China's media faces on this issue.According to the research,there are several differences on transgenic report between Sina and Guokr.The report number of Sina id nearly 12 times of Guokr.On the report content,Sina focuses more on government policies,regulations and attitudes.While most report of Guokr are talking about transgene technology.The number of media reports on the regional transgenic events is very different.The report of Sina is more diverse than Guokr's,and focuses more on the hot event of transgenic issues.On the contrast,more homogenization appears in Sina.Guokr is better than Sina on professionalism.The paper draws a conclusion that the differences about transgene reports between Sina and Guokr are caused by media nature,media orientation and news communicator,by analyzing from two aspects-new media and We-Media,mass media and professional media.The research findings all above show that there are many dilemmas in transgene technology issues dissemination:reporting imbalance,lack of public discourse right,single text representation,and low science communication.In view of the above dilemma,the author puts forward the coping strategies for reference:focus on balanced reporting;enhance the coverage of human feelings,strengthen the integrity of the report;optimize the scientific communication mechanism,Promote public understanding of science;ensure journalistic professionalism and scientific literacy of journalists and editors.
