The Comparative Study About The Mainstream Media Between China And Japan Comment On The Diaoyu Islands Issue

2012 is the 40 th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Japan, but the relationship between China and Japan has since fallen into the freezing point in 40 years. The Diaoyu Islands issue is the biggest obstacle in China-Japan relations. As the main channel for mutual understanding between the people of China and Japan, China and Japan's mainstream media has an important function for domestic and foreign propaganda. For the Chinese mainstream media, to understand the characteristics and public opinion pattern of the Japanese mainstream media,know yourself as well as the enemy,targeted for foreign propaganda,this is important.This paper selected from the period 2012 to 2014, The People's Daily and The Japanese Economic News comments on the Diaoyu Islands issue of, as the study sample,among them,The People's Daily have 27 comments,The Japanese Economic News have 32 comments.By using Agenda-setting theory and Discourse analysis theory, this paper analyze the articles about the Diaoyu Island problem from the comment's tone, subjects and theme; compare the characteristics of Chinese and Japanese mainstream media about the same event. At the same time, through a comparative approach, to explore an effective way to master Chinese mainstream media agenda setting in the domestic and international public opinion environment, so as to enhance the international spread of Chinese mainstream media's influence to help Chinese mainstream media in domestic and international public opinion environment the agenda-setting function into full play.The study found that Chinese mainstream media in safeguarding state sovereignty and national interests, the media's agenda-setting function has been good to play, effectively gather the audience look from a historical perspective and emotional point of view, at the same time, in propaganda terms, in words Criticism of the Japanese government provoked the Diaoyu Islands dispute, stressed that China's sovereignty over the Diaoyu Islands. The "Japanese Economic News" in comments on the same issue, try to avoid talking about the history of the issue, weakening the irrational behavior of the Japanese government, to focus on military issues, the sovereignty of the Chinese government portray as strong image and a military threat, thus misleading its domestic public and international opinion.
