| Natural disasters and serious safety accidents,have not only caused huge losses of lives and property,but also destroyed the normal order of production and life,becoming a hotspot of news media.Our country is large and populous,as well as the current reform of engines and the particularity of economic transformation,occurrence of natural and man-made disasters are more likely to cause the extensive concern of the news media both at home and abroad.The researches and discussions of the news reports on disasters,are the Journalists' duties and their social responsibilities,which also make an positive effect on the prevention and complete the disaster response mechanism to the entire society.People's Daily,New York times,BBC,respectively the mainstream media of China,America and the UK,play an important part both at home and abroad.They have different perspectives and use different ways to report the disaster news,from which they can learn mutual advantage by comparatively analyzing and researching.Based on the Tianjin Explosion,the author analyses the differences of the mainstream medias from the beginning to the end of the accountability between western countries and China,does quantitative research on the differences of the elements they used in order to find the general rule of Chinese and western media in the disaster news report.Meanwhile,the author analyses the reasons of the formation and the impacts on the differences between Chinese and western media reports,which push the China's mainstream media to have a profound thinking about the future disaster report.The first chapter introduces the background of this study and relative information of Tianjin Blast,mainly analyzing comprehensive the spread of Tianjin Blast happening on August,12ht.and selecting three different samples of People' Daily,New York Times and BBC to make comparisons and observations from different points of views to have a brief research on the disaster news reports.The second chapter combs the development course of Chinese and foreign disaster report in order to grasp the core content,characteristics and regularity of disaster coverage;.As the main body of the paper,chapter three analyses samples with a large number of accurate statistics from microscopic aspect of news sources,timeliness,report angles,report content and method,mood,and report style,comparing similarities and differences as well as exploring characteristics.The fourth chapter digs into the reasons of differences between Chinese and foreign media coverage.The author believes they may differ in the political background,institutional factors,audience factors and Journalism theory.The fifth chapter makes in-depth thinking of the present situation and future trend on the news report in our China,in addition,the author put forward some shallow suggestions.With the opening of government affairs,the research shows the mainstream media to disaster news reports timeliness and content values were significantly increased.The effect of the track of disaster news got approval and recognition from the society.However,there is still a little gap between micro level and macro level in western media.At the micro level,the Chinese media is given priority to news and commentary,focusing on the rescue progress,performacing the theme of disaster relief.Disaster relief and the social public opinion and supervision are the main focus,focusing on the safety production in the country,Carry forward the optimistic attitude of disaster.The western media concerns a lot about news itself and features.Sources are rich,focusing on the bad effects of the disaster and its victims.The humanities concern is throughout the whole report,focusing on causes of the disaster.At the macro level,the Chinese media pays much attention to performance as a whole while the western media concentrates on individual performance.Chinese media reports did a good job,western variety of content and angle also gave a lot of enlightenment to Chinese report,which is worth learning and referring to. |
